I was very excited to start this book and very pleased to see that it started with my favorite relationship, that between Benni and her Grandmother Dove. That Dove is a fabulous character and I think she adds a dimension to the book that makes it well worth reading.

  I do like the escapades that Benni gets herself into ... the idea of the "prom" run by the students for the seniors is so funny ... and yes ... they would be sneaking off to the dark corners and leaving lots of the work to her ...

The scene with the water pistols shows a side of Gabe that is just not expected ... I had forgotten about this ...

What a character Dove is ...
