Does the red need to be a red, red or a burgandy red or? and do you want solid or tone on tone?

I'll get started on 4 blocks as soon as the white arrives.  Thanks Denise, and thanks to your friend for the donation of backing and batting.  So generous!

Thanks Donna!

Dorian... I think it will depend on what Sherry finds for the three star fabrics for the top....

Sherry.. do you have any preferences  for the red yet?

addresses on envelopes....  white fabric going out today to:

 Jami

Sandy

 Barb (bobtail cat

 Midge

 Sherry

Following the linked instructions, I made my four blocks with 7"  x WOF.   had a few  squares left over.   I am sending everyone 8"  so you have a smidgen of wiggle room .  Let me know if you need more for some reason.

Donna... I will cut the fabric for the white triangles for setting  and mail it when I mail my squares, and the backing and batting... all together in one package.   I will see the gal who is donating the back and batting in a couple of weeks for a quilt show meeting.    my blocks are made, so I should be able to mail them by end of the first week in March.

Donna...

when I sent the white fabric out yesterday,  I included a post it note with your address for the block makers.

Do you want to cut the setting triangles out of yardage?  or would you prefer for me to cut them.... Doesn't matter to me,  but if I was piecing,  I would prefer to do my own cutting, so I could fudge a smidge if needed....

Thanks again for stepping up to help on a worthy project for our service men and women....

Trish...

Send it all to me.... since I'll have a package going anyway....   I'll send you PM with my address.

Whatever is left of the money will go with the backing and batting for Donna to use to ship the quilt to Sherry.

We had red in the picture.... but maybe a blue.... so that there aren't so many reds on the front?

I'll let Sherry interject here....      she posted a picture of the red star fabric being used at the top for Dorian to use as a reference the other day....

Thanks denise,

Im partial to a blue, think it would frame it nicely and set off the stars well,

like a dark royal blue as opposed to a bright royal.....?

What do you think sherry?

Once i get it , shouldnt take too long to reach you denise, four- five hour drive hehe.

Sounds great, Donna!

My EQ7 software says they should be cut at about 6 5/8" squares, cut once on the diagonal.... An easy angle ruler would save some on the extra dog ear...

but I would probably cut them at 6 3/4" or slightly larger,  and trim down to a uniform size.

At least with the stars on point, we won't lose any points... LOL

EQ says 1 7/8 yards for setting triangles,  but I'll send 2 1/4 yards just because.   That will give you an extra 7" wof cut in case you need it.

I really do love this Michael Miller Couture line... it's much finer than Kona cotton,  or even the standard Michael Miller solid line.  I purchased the standard Michael Miller "jet black" for one project,  and the "Couture" black or another, and couldn't believe the difference.

I purchased an entire bolt of this "soft white"  at Fabric Depot and got it at wholesale price when I made my sister's wedding quilt  last year.

Still have some kona white and some "ultra white" (very bright white) so you'll all notice that I've written on the selvedge edge what it is..... makes it so much easier to do this when I bring it home.

Post office says that you should all be receiving your white by Tues this next week.  If you don't receive it by end of the week please let me know.

I'm thinking dark royal also. With the Stars being a variety of bright blues I think that would blend it all nicely! Thanks!!!
