Here we go Ladies!!

1.The size or your medallion must be between 15.5" and 18.5", unfinished.

2.The size of the blocks in the rows will be between 4.5" and 6.5", unfinished (I am awful at math. This is what we've done before though. Let me know if the numbers need to be different )

3.Borders will be chosen by the person putting the border on. Following any specific instructions or avoiding any specific fabrics/colors that the medallion maker states on her form. They can be pieced, appliqued or embroidered. Matching colors so the quilt harmonizes. *anyone who wants to send along some fabric that you want added to your top, is fine also. Setting the top on point is fine too, but you can't add a regular border if you do.

4.You will have 6 wks to finish your border and get it in the mail

5. You always send to the person that is on the list below you. The last person, sends to the first person on the list.

Please, please remember, you signed up for this so it's a commitment that will last us most the year. If you can't finish it for WHATEVER reason, pleeeeassse just talk to us! We can work it out, I promise :)

First border... Feb 13th.

Second border....March 27th.

Third border... May 8th.

Fourth border...June 19th.

Fifth border.... July 31st.

Sixth border....Sept 11th.

When is the date to have our medallions in the mail by?

I know it is after the first of the year but thought it might be nice to have it here so we could all refer back to it!

Still need to figure out what I want to do for mine!!!

Has anyone got their medallion done?? I haven't even started, I don't even have a THOUGHT as to what I want this go around. LOL. I am having a hard enough time getting Christmas stuff quilted. Sigh~

Are you all in the same boat as I? I would love to see pictures of any finished medallions 

I have a few ideas floating around in my head.... need to narrow down my choices and get with it.... I'm thinking of very scrappy... and sending along a white and a solid color to be used to anchor and add cohesiveness.   need to narrow down my color choice....

ok ladies... I have a question for you...

I'm working on my medallion... 

I am doing scrappy 30's prints... a clear blue accent and Kona white.   I am including the clear blue and the kona  white in my package to go with the medallion. 

My question is....  Is there anyone who does not have 30's in their stash?   I have lots of prints from various swaps, and if needed, would send some along as well, but don't want to add too much  to the package that it is more expensive to send along.

 I have thought about sending a small amount  of each of the solid fabrics to Jacqui in England .  She could just keep what ever she doesn't use, and I could send another batch to the person that follows her so that the international shipping isn't as expensive for either of us.

Jacqui... do you have 30's prints?  I can send a baggie of prints along as well... and as I said, you can add what you don't use to your scrap bag.  

I also plan on including 40 extra 3 1/2" four patch blocks of 30's that I made extra while using up a bunch of 2" pre-cut squares that I had.  These can be used by whomever claims them first in one of the borders.   Add to them from your own scraps, or whatever...  If no one uses them before they get back to me, I'll probably use them in a final border when it returns home.

I'm getting excited to work on everyone's creations this coming year. and by the looks of it, I may even make the mailing deadline next Thursday!

I don't own any '30s fabrics.  You might have to link me to a few places that sells ones you would want in your quilt top, as I don't even know where I would look for some

I, too, need to get busy on my medallion, I haven't even figured out what I want to do this time around!! 

 ok,  here it is....

Dorian... I am happy to send some of my 30's stash along...  the pile has been growing for several years... and I need to bust it some... nowhere like my own quilt!   Especially since I want it to look very scrappy, and I hate to ask anyone to buy FQs that they may never use again for a few squares. 

Since our borders are no more than 6" wide,  and I want the white and blue used as well, it only makes sense.  Like I said earlier, I have participated in several different 30's swaps over the last several years, as well as my own stash enhancement.  I have 1 1/2"  strips,  2 1/2" strips, 3" strips,  6" strips,  10x10 layer cakes, and yardage, as well as smaller pieces  that are scraps from projects.   I used a ton of 2" squares when I made my medallion, and have the extra 44  four patches that will finish at 3", all a mix of the prints used above.  They can be used as well.  I do plan on sending a package with the extra fabric to Sherry, (since she follows Jacqui), with some of the blue ( which I've had for over 20 years, so I don't think we can match it, but I have about 5 yards of it here left from another project.) Some Kona White, and a mix of the 30's from my drawer.   This package can then join my medallion as it travels the USA.  If it seems that the selection is getting slim as my medallion progresses, I would happily send more to the next person.   (I just don't want Jacqui to have to pay the extra shipping to send a large package back over the pond.)

 If members want to add prints from their own 30's stash, the more the merrier.....

If someone is  wanting to spend $$$, and is hoping to add to their own collections and want a variety, Keepsake quilting has some small packs of mixed reproductions...  a 50 piece pack of 5" charms is $14.oo plus shipping     Connecting Threads have a 29 piece pack of 5" charms for $3.oo... both companies have sets of 2 1/2" strips,  and other precuts available.     

Jacqui... I will send you some.. and as I said earlier,  whatever blue, white or scraps are left after your border, just add them to your personal pile, and I will send a second batch to Sherry to travel the USA.
