I don't have everything figured out just yet, but as soon as I do, I'll be back! Jami Project Coordinator – Jami Project Co-Coordinator - CindyWith the Holidays fast approaching, I'd like to suggest that we try to get all blocks and fabrics to the piecer as soon as possible. I'd really like this little quilt to be in Dorian's hands when the baby arrives! Aunties, let’s make the http://quilting.about.com/od/babyquiltpatterns/ss/double_star.htm for this new arrival to our Q&N family! Dorian and Hubby aren’t going to find out what “flavor” this baby is…they want it to be a surprise so we are going to use gender neutral colors and prints. Finished size is approx. 52 1/2" X 63 1/2". To make this baby quilt, we will need the following –20 Double Star Blocks - These blocks will be 10 ½” UN-FINISHED!!! PLEASE make sure your blocks measure this!!! It makes the Piecer’s job SO much easier! We are using a pale-pale yellow tone on tone for the background, a medium green for the points and center square and a novelty print suitable for either a boy or girl for the other points. Sashing – 49 – 1 ½” x 10 ½” rectangles – Minty Green tone on tone or very small print (or ¾ yard to piecer) - Sue rcvd 12/9 by CP Inner Border – 6 – 1¼” X WOF OR 3/8 yard of Medium Yellow sent to piecer - Gerda rcvd 11/22 by CP Outer Border – 7 – 4” X WOF strips of a Gender Neutral Novelty Print (this doesn't need to be green, it's just what I used in my EQ program) – Sherry rcvd 12/1 by CP The way this pattern is sewn & cut out, you will have “extra” mirror images of the block pieces. If you would please send the extra pieces to the piecer to make the “Bonus Quilt” we can then donate it for the Charity Quilts that we do. Thanks!! Expert Posts: 6750 Location: THE LAND OF SWEET MAGNOLIA BLOSSOMS | jami, i added the pic of the "Extra Units" bonus quilt from the quilting.about.com site since i was curious what it looked like and thought everyone else might be curious too! and if you haven't already thought of this, may i suggest that we donate the bonus quilt to harmony home? i think that would be especially appropriate since dorian is the moderator for the Sweet Child quilts and jami, you know i'd be honored to piece both quilts hooray to donna!!! | ||

Expert Posts: 6750 Location: THE LAND OF SWEET MAGNOLIA BLOSSOMS | sue, jami hasn't figured what is needed for the bonus quilt. there is a pic of the bonus quilt on jami's first post above - in fact i'll post the pic here again. the leftovers are "parts" of the original block and this is the suggested layout for the bonus quilt! we're just trying to find out if everyone wants to complete this bonus quilt now or just let the piecer hold onto the extra "parts" and we'll complete it at a later time.
