to paraphrase Waylon Jennings,   It's Time to Get Back to the Basics of Quilting! 

Join us Friday, August 27, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. Central, as Jess gets back to the basics of piecing blocks.  Jess is going to discuss 1/4" seam allowances and stitch lengths and why these techniques are so important to the construction of a great quilt!  We encourage all our quilters here on the Quilt & Needle Forum to join us - the more experienced quilters can share their wealth of knowledge, tips and hints with our quilters who do not have as many  quilty moments with their craft!  This promises to be a lively and informative discussion!

Location: Lamesa TX		Seriously, I'll try to make it, but I'm on a deadline so it depends on how much reasearch and writing I've gotten done :) I'm attempting to do a paper on quilts and the Amish and how the quilts have so much color in them. I have to get 8-10 pages, so saying it's their only creative outlet isn't going to work LOL

Location: Iowa		Thanks for posting the transcript, Jess! I did go check my stitch length...mine runs right at 14 per inch which is the default setting for my machine when I turn it on. Now, my 1/4" seam took a LONG time to finally figure out with this machine even with a 1/4" foot. Then I actually wore out the first 1/4" foot and had to get a new one. Yep...it measured different from the first one so I had to figure it out all over again!
