Expert Posts: 4139 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Central Texas | Hi folks - Anyone else miss the informative Discussion Sessions as much as I do???? Well, Ms. Cindy and I have been talking, and we are putting a place on the calendar each month for them, once again. What I need from my dear patrons on the forum is ideas for Discussion Sessions! We had some great discussions last year about quilt repair, crazy quilting, color, etc. We don't mind repeating topics since new information comes in each discussion. For those of you who have never participated in one of our Discussions Sessions, basically we get together in The Snug (chat room) and everyone shares the tips, tricks, questions, etc. that they have about that particular topic. These discussions are pretty informal, but are usually led by a moderator from amoungst the forum members. Moderators are not necassarily experts on the topic, they just outline discussion points and help the chat stay on topic (you know how we love to go OFF TOPIC!!). Some of our moderators are what we would call experts on their subject though, and they often answer questions from the rest of us about the subject (though anyone who participates is free to answer the questions we have as well). Clear as mud? Okay, so first we need some ideas for topics for Discussion Sessions. Then Cindy and I will start tracking down moderators!! Don't be shy, what do you want to talk about??

Sometimes I see combinations in pictures, decor, even a stack of papers and wonder how olive green, gold, and purple, or turquoise and royal blue could look so great together!

Extreme Veteran Posts: 556 ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Queensland Australia | Sounds great. I could use some tips on hand quilting too. Mine usually looks like something a 5yo could do better, and I have a couple here that I think would look better hand quilted.

And Cindy, yours is great too. However, we can all use refreshers tips/courses, and of course the laughter in these discussions. Gerda

Expert Posts: 5725 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada | Midge, don't be so hard on yourself - as I keep reminding my almost 7 year old granddaughter, who gets mightily upset when things don't go right the first time, - practice, practice, practice! Of course, she feels she should be able to do it right the first time, everytime!! And hates advice!!!Sheeesh! Thankfully, Haley is a whole other kind - she has no problem practicing and doing things over and over. Yours will get better the more you do! Gerda

Expert Posts: 3574 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Portland Oregon | These are all good topics! How about one on tools and gadgets? there are so many out there.... are they really worth the $$$$? I often buy something and then decide ultimately that the simple way was better in the long run.
