I love flowers and I enjoy doing applique once in awhile.  Quite a few years ago I purchased a book called "Wildflowers: designs for applique and quilting" by Carol Armstrong. It's a neat book that has 24 different flower designs, and 10 projects to do.

It tells how to use light box applique and shows you when you are laying things like leaves and petals, that you only applique down the edge parts that are exposed, not the ones that are under another piece. So it's very interesting. And the projects are so neat.

One of my favorite projects is The Double Wedding Ring, looks like a traditional Double Wedding Ring pattern, except that it's made of flowers and hearts. So sweet.

What is your favorite applique book?

I just bought one called Piece by Piece by Sharon Schamber. I'm trying to figure out when I can try her method!

Way to go Dawn.... This is the book we used at the guild to do our Applique quilt. In fact it was one of their patterns we chose to do our quilt for our bi-annual raffle. I'm not a "real" good applique person, but one of the girls in the guils is just awesomw. She swears by these designs and she was right. They are fabulous deigns and their methods great.

Hugs and stitches

Debbieann I see you're from Ontario, do you go to the Toronto quilt show each year or is that just a little far for you. I am going this year for the first time as our Cottage is in Northern Ont.
I bet that quilt was beautiful :) just think to win a quilt like that on a raffle.
