Hello, is there anyone here?

It's Oct already, can you believe it!? Not much longer till Christmas.. and we still don't have our first rains of the season, we really, really need them. California is not going to fall off into the ocean as people have been predicting for ages, we are just going to burn up. The fires are so awful right now, everything is sooo dry. And the Fall winds have started. Please say a prayer for California, bring some much needed rain. Thankfully none of the fires are near me, but I am so sad to see so many houses and so much acreage burning

On the home front, it's just things as usual around here. I'm still working on Jason's quilt. He was married last week.. I hope to get it done soon.

What is everyone else up too?

HUGS to you all.

So glad you're not in the fire danger area, Dorian.  Have been thinking about you.  Feel so bad for all the loss of life, homes, and animals.

Trish, good to see you posting!

Hubby and I got home last Wed from a trip to Missouri - wedding of my cousin, visit with DH's cousin, dinner and show in Branson.  2 of my high school classmates were with us in Branson, so fun trip there.  On our way home, we stopped in Lincoln, NE to visit the International Quilt Study and Museum.  WOW!  That's all I've got to say.  Quilts from 1820 America, plus modern ones from other countries, plus quilts and garments from Uzbekistan, Kajistan, and other stan countries.  Finished quilting a large quilt for a friend (now just have to tie and hide the start and end threads).  Also finished quilting a quilt of valor our local quilt guild will present to a veteran Nov 18 during our meeting.  Still working on great niece and nephew quilts - never ending.
Have a wonderful day.

HI, ladies! Dorian, I'm so glad to hear you aren't in the fire area. It sounds SO scary! I was telling Mark that if a storm was coming and they said to evacuate, I might not go. But if there was a fire coming, I'd go in a heartbeat!

Trish, it's good to hear from you! How is your DD? Is she still in England?

Sandy, that sounds like a fun trip! One of these days I'm going to get to one of the big quilt museums. There's a small one up in north FL (about a four hour drive from me). I saw recently that the owners have bought a Caribbean island and are planning to retire, so they are looking for a buyer! The complex includes the museum and a big quilt shop.

I finished two quilts recently. They are Bonnie Hunter's 2015 mystery, called Allietare. Instead of making a large quilt I made two lap-size in different color schemes, one for Mark and one for me. I had a pile of tops that needed quilting so I've been on a quilting spree. Next up is a large log cabin my mom pieced.
