January's accomplishment from here is that 3 quilts were delivered to their new owners - our great nephew and nieces.  Two are pictured here, the other one was shown in the Nov, 2015 "accomplished" thread.

Sandy,
Very nice! I'll bet the great nieces and nephews love getting their very own quilt from you!!

I finally finished all the blocks for my niece's wedding quilt New Year's Eve then got the blocks laid out. Started sewing them in rows the other night. Got 5 out of 6 rows done, now need to join the rows and get the borders on so it can be quilted and bound for the end of February.

The year just started and already I am feeling overwhelmed!!
I have a new great niece or nephew coming this summer, and 2 other little baby boys scheduled to make their appearances this spring...better get sewing and don't look back!!

Happy New Year!!

Thanks folks!  Nice to hear from you.  Did finally finish one of the block exchange pieces from years ago on this forum.  Made a quilt as you go tablerunner from the 5 blocks.  Also there's a double binding, which doesn't show very well in the picture, but it's purple close to the blocks with gold on the outside.  The backing is dull gold and the "sashing" quilt as you go fabric gold as well.  Anyway, hope you like it.

Sandy, the quilts are beautiful! I'm sure they will be loved to death.

I like your table runner! I made those swap blocks into donation quilts for my guild a couple of years ago. I haven't tried QAYG - how did you like it?

I really like the quilt as you go method for this table runner.  Not really sure about using it in more than one row - haven't tried that yet.  Did notice my sewing machine didn't like stitching the binding onto the "sashing".  It bogged down a bit and I broke a needle at one of the joints even tho using my walking foot.      Looking forward to seeing your latest projects!  They're always inspirational.

Thanks everyone.  Got another almost finish (needs threads hidden and the binding put on).  Our 6'1" grandson was here, so took a pic of it while he could help hold it up.  Both the front and back fabrics were given to me by a gal from one of our local Hutterite Colonies.  It was scraps from quilts and clothing they make.  I quilted it tightly to prevent more fraying.  The pattern is by Jen Shaffer (PBJ) and hasn't been named yet.  The Colony gals had already finished several rail tie blocks, so I used them on the back.

Thanks gals.  It was fun working this pattern, and it went together quickly.  Trish, there are closeups of quilting, but they're on my 'puter at home and I'm in Las Vegas now.  We don't fly home until Feb 12.  We took a couple weeks away from that nasty white 4 letter word "snow!".  So nice to see some green and the other sights near here.  Today, we're traveling north to see old friends from northern MN.  They live in the mountains (where they have more of that nasty snow), but they tell us we'll enjoy it there....we shall see.
Hope you all have a great day.
