Yes Ms Jacqui, I will get an album thread going.

I emailed Ms Sherry this morning. Life has been a bit hectic, but it's winding down for her. She is hoping to post a pic over the weekend.

Ok Karen, thanks!

 UPDATE

here is our album

Okay, I found some orphan blocks that I bought for 50 cents at a garage sale that have been asking to be used in something! So they have been used! Here is my block. It measures 18 1/2" square and the second photo is of it with the extra stuff that came in the bag with them. There are extra little blocks and lots of scrap fabric too. If anybody wants some sent to them to use in borders I will gladly send it to you! I am going to enclose a piece of the multicolored border too, just encase! If it all gets used and anybody needs more, just let me know if you want more!

Okay this should all be in the mail on Monday and if I got the list right, I am mailing to Karen!

I don't think I mentioned it before, but the fabric in my medallion has NOT been washed, so if you gals could use fabric that has NOT BEEN washed, it would work out a lot better. Maybe this is something we should all list here on the thread. Some people wash everything first, some don't. I can do either when working on the medallions, I just would like to know who has washed theirs and who hasn't.

Sherry, I love the center blocks and what a bright colored piece of fabric you are using around it. That's going to be fun to work on. I have a great black here, so that's no problem. Will have to see what else I have in the black and white combinations - now I've got something to think about while waiting for your medallion to reach me.

Jacqui.... two stacked smaller borders will be perfect!

Karen... I am a "washed" person.....  Nothing goes into my stash shelves or drawers w/o a swish through the wash.   I don't do mine in hot water, usually cold with a cold rinse, unless it's flannel, then I do two trips through with hot water and a hot dryer because it shrinks so much.  I wash more to get the chemicals out,  I also want to know how much "hand" a fabric has w/o all that sizing in it.  If it comes out like a limp dishrag, I send it on to charity backs at our local guild.  Price is not always a good indication of how "cheesy" a fabric can be once it's washed, either.    Back in the days when I worked fabric retail, fabrics came with a smell of fermaldyhyde (used as a shipping precaution).  I got in the habit of washing most all my fabrics then, (except for wools and bridal dept. goods... ).

I believe that the latest  debate is that when being used for piecing, it doesn't matter much, because there is such limited shrinkage on pieces that are small.   But when using full yardage in a single piece such as backings, it might make a difference.

I am not a washer. I've never had problems with it either, but I will certainly wash any fabrics before I put them on a medallion, if someone wants me to. Just let me know.

I'm getting excited!! Can't wait to start working on these. I have always loved Round Robins

I received first medallion yesterday, have not had a chance to open it yet- but looking like (after 15 long 11 hour days in a row) I will finally get a couple days off this weekend- will get to sew. :) then starting next week I should have more time again- we hired 3 new people so I am no longer *the lone ranger* :)
can't wait to get started...have sewing time again.

Hi Sherry so nice to see you, sorry life has been getting in the way

I have mailed my medallion off to you.. according to my slip it says Jan 2nd 12:27 p.m. lol Yes you are adding a border to it. I mailed it because it will then stay in the USA and not travel backwards and forwards. You will also recieve Denises medallion which I shall make a border for and mail to you, then you add the border I made for Denise and then your own. clear as mud? Thank you so much for doing this for me.

Jacqui xx
