Hello everyone,

Time for an update. I finished my medallion center and it's in the mail this morning. I have put a piece of my main fabric in the package along with the medallion. Later, I will mail more of that pinecone fabric for each of you for use in your border. I didn't want to mail a big chunk and add to postage for all of you, so I will send individual pieces to each of you. If there are left-overs, you can either keep them, or send them along with the round robin. I will post a photo so you can all see what you'll be working with. The deep green is from the fusions line and the brown in the corners is probably a Moda Marble. I am hoping to see some nice rich greens and deep browns and whites used in the borders - along with the pinecone fabric. That will tie it all together so well. This is going to be such fun. Can't wait to see what I'll be working with first.

One question - do you other gals want my fabric sent to you now, or would you rather wait until you have my medallion in your possession? I can do it either way. If I wait until my medallion is at your house, my extra piece of fabric won't have a chance to get lost. But I"ll leave it up to you.

Denise, as for the question about 30's fabrics, I am sure I don't have any in my stash, but I probably have solids or tone on tones that would work. If you want to send me something to add to my border for your medallion, that would be lovely.

Oh Karen, it's going to be a struggle to let that one out of my house! I love that pinecone fabric and the colors are just gorgeous! Oh look, I get to play with it first! LOL.

Karen lovely medallion . Although I will not need your fabric for a while yet you can send it when you feel best. As it has to come overseas it seems silly to wait til it gets to 'my' turn. I look forward to adding to it :)

Jacqui

Edited to add.. Please only send a small amount to me Karen as I don't want it to risk it getting lost. TY

Thanks for the nice comments Dorian and Jacqui, it was fun to make that one. I hunted for ages, trying to decide which block to make and which fabric to use. Finally just had to jump in and get it done. I would like my round robin to stay really "woodsy and rustic" looking, with plenty of greens and browns and of course the fabric I'll share with each of you. I love that pine cone fabric (has metallic accents, by the day) and have been saving it for a special occasion. I can't wait to see what you gals do with my choices and I can't wait to work on yours.

Jacqui - I'll send that fabric to you fairly soon and I'll be sure to post here when it's safely in the mail.

Wow... these are all going to be awesome to work on...

Jacqui... I will post the fabric bits tomorrow or Sat.  I had to buy more of the white today and it is now in the wash.... ready to go into the dryer.

My medallion is 18 1/2" unfinished.    The individual squares in the four patches started out as 2" squares... the blue blocks with the print corners were originally 3 1/2" squares.   Kona Ultra White and the solid blue along with some 30's scraps coming your way soon!

Sherry... how soon would you like me to mail my medallion to you?  now,  or when it's time to mail for the next round?   I understand you will stitch Jacqui's border onto my medallion before you put your border on.....

someone please correct me if I have this wrong.....

Thank You for the info Denise, and the fabrics   I shall send you some FQ's in return

Ok Dorian I have another question, sorry... I planned on using 3 1/2" blocks, which go into the 18" nicely :) however, that would only make the border 3 1/2" tall......... as the borders need to be up to 6.5" could I 'border' my blocks and it count as 1 border?...... not explaining that very well... or would I be better making 6" ( finished ) blocks?... I don't want to 'drowned' the medallion blocks by putting something too big on it if you understand me....... Denise, what do you think? Please let me know :)

I sent the picture of my center to Dorian this morning- she has been kind enough to handle my pictures for me through this program. my center measures 15 1/2" x 18" and is an applique - I do need to let you know (*Dawn) it is packaged & ready to go- but I am working 8am-8pm for the next 6 days in a row- *hoping Thursday I get out earlier- but in actuality I may be working those hours until Saturday* so, the soonest it will get to the post office is Thursday afternoon- good chance it will be Saturday morning. sorry for being late.

Karen, do you want only green/white/brown/pinecone fabrics? Or are other colors welcome too?

Jacqui, I think you would be ok stacking your 3.5" borders so there are two of them, is that what you mean?

Yes Denise, Sherry will have to sew Jacqui's border on to your medallion.

Here is Colleens' lovely medallion.

Denise, those are my preferred colors, but if you have something else you think fits with my fabrics and the theme, then go for it.  I'm sure when you see the pinecone fabric, you'll find other shades and perhaps other colors that will blend nicely and set off the center.  Do what you think looks good and something you would be happy to have yourself.

Colleen, what an interesting medallion. I'm already starting to think of things I can put along with that. But I want to see the colors and prints in person before I made any decisions. Maybe if I am careful, I can add some applique to my border - will have to consider that.

Anyone else have a photo of their medallion to share with us. I can't wait for my first one to come in the mail. I hope we all share lots of photos as this goes along.
