HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUGUST THREADHEADS!!!!

Sherry 8/5
http://www.quilterscache.com/M/MississippiBlock.html

there's a pic below of the look Sherry is going for - she wants batiks for the center star and "points" and a SOLID bright white for the corner squares and between the "points" (I bet that was clear as mud ) - the pic below should be a big help knowing where Sherry wants what color

Donna 8/19
http://www.quilterscache.com/W/WovenRibbonsBlock.html

Donna wants red, green, blue and yellow ribbons as shown in the pic - plaids are not necessary!! and she wants white or off-white for the four outer corners

Cherie 8/28
http://www.quilterscache.com/J/JacobsLadderBlock.html

Cherie wants reds and whites like in the pattern example

Hi, all! I'm excited to see my blocks! I had a couple of questions on my colors...red, blue, green, yellow ribbons and white or off white corners, please.

Sherry--
I'm confused (I know, it doesn't take much lately), but for your block, do you want solid bright whites?? Or tone on tones??
And in your description, you say " bright white (is the star) and batiks is the background", then you say that you are going for the look of Jan's, which is opposite!

So, no Cindy, you were not a clear as mud!!
It's on my to do list for the weekend, but I don't really want to to-do it twice!! (No offense!!)

What's a girl to do!!!

i know, midge, I was confuzzled too!    on the sheet that nanci emailed, sherry said:

Okay, Cindy may kill me but the block I chose is called Mississippi and I want it done in Bright White (is the star) and Batiks (any and all) is the background. There is a link on page 2 to one that is Jan's. That is the look I am going for!

so I emailed Sherry for clarification and she said . . .

It is like the picture that I think I was thinking and just got it backwards! The star in batiks with white background is the way I want it.

the pic I posted is Jan's quilt from page 2 of the pattern - so use the pic above as guidance, please!

however, I did not think to ask whether Sherry wanted solid or TOT bright whites - I'll email her & ask .......

and thanks, Donna, for your clarification of colors!

happy sewing, y'all!

Thanks Cindy!!!
I got Donna's block ready to go, but was waiting to get my batik washed before I tackle that block. And then it hit me.....was it solid white, or tone on tone (and I have both available for the cutting!)

I am slowly but surely trying to get caught up after a couple of disastrous months, so I do appreciate everyone's patience with me on this exchange!!

Sorry I have been so absent lately! This is my project for the day, to get caught up on these blocks. Checked my e-mail and Cindy asked if I could pop in and answer a question! So Here I am!

If you could please make it solid white I would appreciate it!

Thank you all for being patient with me! If these start arriving before I get mine done and in the mail, I will not open til I am caught up! I want to do it guilt free! And if they pile up, it will MAKE me get caught up!!! I will let you know as they arrive though!

Hugs to you all and I will return soon!

P.S. Robby is better and gaining his strength! Thanks for all the prayers!!!

aaaaaagggggghhhhhh

im sure most of you will recognize this lament as you probably have done the same
some time in your quilty experience!

today i made a cute lil birthday block for miss sherry, i was so pleased with the way it turned out!
i love batiks too so it was fun to pick one out, and i did not have to do any frog stitching!!!
as i was admiring the colors i realized that i put it together the way the first instructions stated. (even though i labeled the picture correctly)
that is i made the star white!!!
so i guess i will trying this again on another day
lol

Also, I mailed Tiffaney's block on July 30th and I haven't heard if she got it or not? Has anybody else heard if she received it or not?

Oops, Sherry, I think I probably made your block with the colors reversed! I made it a while ago so don't remember. Please let me know if I goofed and I'll make another one!

Sorry Donna, I finally caved and opened the blocks I have received and yours is reversed.

But if you do want to make another one please don't rush!

I am still working on getting mine done and caught up!

Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Midge, yours is the other one that I have received!

Thanks ladies!
