Hello all, I wasn't sure of when to put the second half up, so I am just going to do it now :) Enjoy

Here are more pictures of my quilt coming together.

I put these pieces up on a "make-shift" design wall that I made by pinning a quilt size piece of thin polyester batting up over the large wall I have hanging on the wall in my sewing room.   When I moved into my new sewing room, I lost the use and space I have in the dining room to lay a WIP out on my larger dining room table, next to which I used to sometimes add a large folding table.  The folding table is now my cutting table.  This temporary design wall works quite well.  I am actually thinking to rearrange my sewing room this summer to turn my largest wall into a more permanent design wall.

These pictures show my center blocks change.  I wanted to use some of the fat quarters that my son brought back from a trip to Arizona and give my quilt a "southwest" look to it ...

Boy, you gals are fast... I've worked pretty much all day and just now to making the 4 Patches. I think this is really going to be pretty, nice and light, Springy. Of course it being 88 degs today, doesn't seem much like Spring! Went from 30's to 80's - good ol' Oklahoma weather!! I'll post pics after I get things rolling further along...Thanks Dorian...  Jean

Thanks, my friends, for the kind words ...

Jean ... sorry to hear about your loss of power.  Hope you get to sew today.  I was a tester for Dorian so that is why it looks like I have make fast progress.  I am a slow piecer so I would probably still be on the first installment had I started yesterday. Once I had the 4-Patch and HST units sewn the blocks and top went together very quickly for me.

Here is a piccie of my top ... I did not add the last outside borders yet as it will be sometime before I get to making the backing and quilting this one.

Dorian ... I   this pattern!  Thank you for sharing!

I really like the way my top looks now without the borders ... so I will decide later if I want to add the borders as called for in the pattern or if I want to make a custom border  ... I was thinking of maybe adding a pieced border with more of my southwest fat quarters to only the top and bottom ...

Well, I'm ready to set my blocks together - , does that count? This is going to be such a 'Springie' top.. My plans are to start on it as soon as I get some cleaning done! Darn, why does all that stuff have to be done, it's more fun to play.

Just so you think I might be pulling your leg, here's the layout of my blocks.. I do have the bottom row, but hard to get that low so after get a few rows done, then it'll move up and I can layout last row. I really like it. I have already 'seen' other colors to use to make another one, although I'm not one to do many 'small pieces' type blocks.. Hope you think it looks nice.

LOL Jean, you're so funny. I'm glad to see that you are OK. Did that awful tornado come near you?

Your top looks very lovely! So Spring like. I"m glad you like it :)

Thanks Dorian....We're fine here... Moore is about 40 mins south of us. Seems to be right in the path of any tornados!! There's been several hit that same area in the past! One thing for sure I wouldn't be building back there! It just seems to be the path one will take. So sad about everyone involved. It's amazing the money that has been given, supplies, etc. Looks like more rain is coming tho, from 3am till 11 tomorrow! Just don't need anymore right now!
