We need your prayers please. Isaiah was very lethargic early this morning. I couldn't get him to nurse, or even wake up very much. So we rushed him to the hospital. They took his blood and immediatly looked at his sugar levels. They were very low. (they were fine the day before).

So with some glucose and heat (he was cold) he looked much better. But, as they don't know what caused this dip, and the facilities here in Red Bluff are not good enough for a little guy, they have send him down to Davis.

We will be heading out first thing in the morning. I am on a waiting list to get into the Ronald McDonald housing down there, and I will stay there till Isaiah comes home/we know more.

I'm sorry, but as I don't have a cell or computer to take, I wont be able to update you all.

Thanks Ladies, I know the prayers from everyone will be so uplifting.

(((((Dorian & Doug)))))

Prayers going up for little Isaiah and for you all.  Lets home that he can pick up and get well and strong asap.  This must be such a worry for you both, especially for you Dorian as you are still healing from your op yourself.  Please know that everyone here and everyone that knows you will be keeping you all in their thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for all, especially little Isaiah!  This must be so scary for all of you.....  Dorian... take care of yourself, as we all know that  a baby senses the stress of it's mother..... and he needs you  to be as healthy and rested as possible.  I can only imagine what you are all going through.....

Dorian, Saying prayers for Isaiah and sending love and hugs to you and all of your family. It must be a terrible worry for all of you and especially difficult for you, I know you will just want to hold him and cuddle him. Take care of yourself (you must be sore).
Love and hugs and prayers,
Sue x

Good thoughts and prayers going out to you Dorian, Isaiah, your whole family, and the medical staff who will be caring for your little darling.  Wishing you all the best.  So glad you were able to get him where he needs to be right now.  Hope you can get some rest and heal up quickly too!

thank you all for continuing prayers, Dorie is very appreciative of the love and support.

she gave me permission to update you all.

to begin with; there were some complications during the delivery, and they found a problem that may have been occurring for a couple of weeks or more. this problem is most likely the reason for Isaiah's small size, despite being full term. he wasn't getting all the nutrients he needed to be an appropriate weight. he has no fat on him and no reserves. the hospital sent them home rather quickly ( in my opinion and experience), and while at home he was unable to maintain his temperature and maintain feeds. this causes a spiral of events where they use up their glucose faster then it can be replaced. they get tooo cold, use up glucose reserves trying to keep normal temperature; have no energy to feed, and spend more energy feeding then they get from their food. much like a premie would.

so back at the hospital they gave him dextrose, warmed him up and sent him to UC Davis children's hospital.

dorie and doug got to the hospital today and dorie has a room. doug had to go back to the kids.

baby Isaiah did have some further complications last night, developing seizures. they are doing scans, tests, etc.... to determine what is going on. the problems he is experiencing can be the result of the complication that was discovered with delivery. he is on anti-seizure medication.

please please keep praying, dorie is alone now at the hospital, i may try to get up their this weekend if i can make it work out. she does have phone access though as long as she is staying at the on campus family housing and doesnt have to worry about long distance. usually if moms are providing milk for the babies they can have meal assistance. i know their finances are tight. they are at an excellent care center so they are in good medical hands.

im praying for comfort for dorie, doug, and the kids; and perfect peace from above. im also trying not to worry too much or to worry dorie. after so many years of working with these lil ones my mind goes to all those complications that i do not want isaiah to experience.

i will ask her tonight if she has computer access at the hospital and pass on your prayers and hugs to her.

kidsrn
