Hello Ladies!!!!

It's time for the next Sew-A-Thon Weekend.  So Let's hear what you are working.  Did you pull out another an UFO project to work towards finishing?  How about those baby blocks or snug blocks or something needs to go in the mail super soon? How about that dream project? Come on.... spill the beans and share with us.   LOL

Me?    Me.... I'm going to be working a few small projects.  I striving on finishing my 3 baby blocks for Sue's GB quilt.  Then the puppy block for Kieren's quilt.  Got the snail done.  These little hand applique blocks seem to go fast for me.   For more machine day work - my challenge quilt.  And for hand work - continue working on my mini appliqued "Oakleaf & Reel" quilt.

So .... I'm off for tonights hand work. And now you know what is in my weekend. Please come on in and sit a spell.

Tricia

Since I'm having a stay at home retreat, while watching over DH.... this is perfect!   What am I working on?

I had organized and prepacked my "touch of Vegas" project.... which had  ibeen sitting for over a year.  I had already assembled the little 3" stars... and the 12" stars.... so those were already done.  But today since our dr. visit,  I've assembled the  day/night blocks.... the piano keys are now assembled into 55" strips...   I've finished the day stars for the 6" and 9" size.

I am done for the night... tomorrow I'll get the night stars done in the 6" and 9" sizes.... and then start to assemble the sections together.

I'm making this somewhat smaller than the original 90" size.  So I'll have some parts left over.... but it will be great to cross another half-stitched top off my list as a complete top waiting for quilting.   (I have another quilt in front of it on the quilting que.... )

Then.. I have a puppy and snail block to finish

I did get a chance to stop at a quilt shop near the doctor's office today... found some items that needed to come home with me.....

My oldest UFO is finally FINISHED! We're going to hang it today and I'll post pictures. Next I'm going to start making miniatures for my guild's 2013 show.

Tomorrow we're going to Lakeland to visit the parents, so I only have today for sewing!

Since it is raining I will be sewing when I'm not being dragged (kicking and screaming - I'm not a shopper) to the mall by my daughter. I will get the brown March blocks done and ready to mail. THEN I need to finish loading my grandson's bug jar quilt back on the frame and start quilting it again. I had it almost finished when I realized the back looked terrible and spent about 2 months taking it all out. Not fun to redo a whole quilt.
I had hoped for nice weather to get my dad's tiller and start on our garden. Oh well, the time will come, hopefully sooner than last year.

Meg... the only rule is to get some sewing done!  And then check in every now and then and share your progress.  Of course, pics are always great, but not required!

Okay! I can play! I have a couple of quilts that need tying to be completed. Is it okay if I stop long enough to make a loaf of cranberry bread? Gotta have something yummy to keep up my strength! LOL

Meg... it's ok to stop to bake,  ONLY if you pass a piece over when it's still slightly warm!  I love cranberry bread!

So far, I have done some hand stitching. Appliqued a rose onto an 'over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder.' And, no, you will not see me modeling it! Finished two Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks. Now have several that need pressing. I see several projects that need to be done at the sewing machine, but think I will continue with tying a quilt for my brother so I can finish watching 'Angels and Demons.'

Well I'm checking in to see how everyone is doing.

I have gotten the 3 blocks for Sue's GB blocks done. I posted pictures of them on her thread. But here is the link to it.

http://www.thequiltandneedle.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2331

I'm now off to work on my challenge piece.  Ironing and trimming those 104 Diamond in Square blocks.  I have a few done but I really need to get the rest of them done so that I can start on the next step.

I'm looking forward to hearing your updates.

Tricia

So much for tying Richard's quilt. Turned around to start working on it only to discover that my sweet little Oliver was sound asleep.... right in the center! So off I go in search of another project.

I have finished my runnning for today.... now maybe I can aget some sewing done.

I need an exchange gift for my retreat next weekend, and I bought a new pattern a couple weeks ago for a basket. I think I'll try to get one of those made and then fill it with some stuff (quilty, of course-- and chocolate!!).
If this turns out good, then I'll make a couple more-- for Luke and his roommate for Easter! (even though he's in college, he still like little surprises!!)

Then, of course, like I said last night, I want to get the top of my Butterfly Kisses BOM pieced together-- we'll see....

Wish me luck!!

Meg... furry friends!  what would we do without them?  LOL   The cat has been walking around my project all morning, but she hasn't laid on it yet.... she usually waits until I'm trying to pin baste to do that.

This is where I left off last night...

This is where I am right now.... I can see that my piano keys aren't long enough, so I'll need to make more of those before I'm done.....  All the components are done.. and ready to start stitching together in groups that will join harmoniously later with few (if any) half seams.   Just got back from running to pick up a prescription and spaghetti ingredients.... so I'm ready to turn the iron back on and get busy.....
