This recipe comes from Nestle's "Best Loved Cookies" book.

12 oz package of chocolate chips
2 3/4 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3 Tbls butter
3 Tbls granulated sugar
1/2 C molasses
1/4 C water

Melt 1 1/2 C chocolate chips, set aside to cool.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon. In seperate bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add molasses and melted choco chips. Add flour  mixture and water. Beat until  smooth.

Cover and chill for about an hour, till firm enough to roll out.

Roll, cut, bake at 350 degrees for 5 o 6 minutes. Just until the edges are set but the middle is still soft. Let rest for a minutre or two, then take off pan, cool and decorate.

* Melt the remaining half cup of chocolate chips, and use as a drizzle over cookies, if so desired.
