Thank you all very much ladies for your thoughts and prayers.

Mother had her left leg amputated on 15th Sept - it is healing really well and she has come to terms with it and realises now that she will never be able to return home.  We had a family meeting yesterday afternoon with the doctors, physios, occupational therapists and social worker to discuss her future.  It was very hard as she will not go home, she will stay in hospital until we (that is my brother as he lives near the coast) can find a suitable nursing home for her near to his house as that is where dad will go.  This could take 2-3 weeks or several months, we really do not know yet.  Once Peter (bro) comes up with a few options we (dad, sis, bro and myself) will go and visit the homes to see which one will be best suited.  It has been very hard to think about this and Iknow that a lot of you ladies have been through this yourself so you can appreciate I am sure how I am feeling at the moment.  One always thinks that your parents will live forever but......

Anyway, thanks again.

(((Milica))) I'm glad the op went well Milica. Even though it's such a hard thing, it sounds like you made the right decision in putting your parents in a home. They will be well cared for and you wont be running yourself ragged so much. Lots of good thoughts and wishes for your family.
