Has anyone ever done a diagional pieced back ala John Flynn? Pretty easy and makes a standard width fabric "stretch" to the width you need. There are some limitations to how far you can offset it, but when you only need a few inches extra width, it works great!! http://www.flynnquilt.com/workshop/FreeLessons/ Scroll down about 1/2 the page and you'll find it. It sounds a whole lot harder than it is. Just thought I'd share.

Jami, I did it once. I found it hard working with the big pieces of fabric. I think cutting the diagonal line straight was the issue. It worked well once I got it sewn together, though, and having a diagonal seam in the back is nice.
