Thanks, Cherie!  I'm still missing Charlie and probably always will.  He was such a special guy, even tho' we only had him about a year and a half.  He was rather old when he came to us and I knew we wouldn't get to keep him too long, but I had hoped for a bit more than what we had.  But I thanked God several times for allowing us to know Charlie and to take care of him in his last few months.  He was such a big gentle guy!  My daughter has a Black Lab that I take care of - she's getting old too - close to 11, but still quite active.  I love all dogs, but labs are special favorites - them and my Beagles!

Hugs,
Nola

Hello Nola,
I've only just read about your beloved Charlie and I am very sorry for your loss. I feel for you and wish I could help take the ache away, but I know from experience that only time can do that. I too lost a black lab this year, she was almost sixteen. She was a very quiet, patient old girl and I miss her dreadfully, but remember the quote, "Don't remember and be sad, remember me and be glad" (for all the good, happy times)..

Hi everyone, and happy Valentine shopping. During my shopping I may find something for my DH for our Valentine Anniversary! I have a thought: When we send our gifts, I think it would be nice to include a little note about ourselves. It's always fun to learn more about others.

Also a question: Do we open our secret gift as soon as we get it or is there an "opening date"?

Thanks, carol/justme

Thanks, Gerda, I've got my Valentine too. I've found out there's an LQS in Castle Rock, and now I have a really good reason to go exploring!

Thanks Gerda, got the email just fine. My day is going good - my quilting pal picked me up and voila............ Visited 2 LQS and lunch @ Swiss Chalet. What a treat as I don't get to do that much.Driving that distance(which isn't really far - 30 min) BUT at present with IV and meds, not the safest thing to do.

So I got to relax and shop. I got fabulous FQ's for my Secret Valentine and a????, also a ?????. Gues you wil have to wait and see what else. lol

Hugs and stitches

You're welcome, ladies!! :)
Ooh, Debbieann, what did you have?? Bill and I had lunch at Swiss Chalet on Monday, and I had the white meat quarter chicken dinner with SALAD!!! I don't know what came over me, I ALWAYS have the baked potato!!! But oh, it was sooooo good. I don't get there very often either, we rarely eat out - it's usually healthier and definitely cheaper to eat at home, but it's a real treat the odd time, isn't it??

Supposed to be a tad warmer tomorrow, so if the roads are in decent shape I'll be buzzing over to Bluffton to the LQS to shop for my valentine.  Been needing to go anyway as I need to find a couple pieces of fabric for a swap on another site - two that have been REALLY hard for me to find.  The Bluffton store has such interesting notions and gorgeous fabric so I'm hoping I can find something really nice for ????? (I wonder who!)  LOL

We have 3 nice LQSs in my area, as well as a couple Amish dry good stores, but the Bluffton store is my fav.  I LOVE their fabrics, the ladies always act so happy to see their customers - very friendly and helpful!  The Berne store has beautiful fabrics too but they lack quite a bit in friendliness.  Maybe the main clerk just isn't all that out-going, but she seldom offers to help and tends to ignore her customers.  The other shop at Petterson is the one where I occasionally work.  She's always friendly too, but doesn't have quite the selection of fabric the Bluffton store has.

If any of you ladies ever get down/up/over to my part of the country, let me know and we'll go shop-hopping!  I've heard there's a new store at a little town called Roanoke too that I've been wanting to check out - have to wait for warmer weather tho'!

Warm quilty hugs to all this cold but sunny Sunday!
