Okay ladies, we have a plan. For the next 1 ½ weeks, we will vote on what we want to do for the next 10” Layer Cake Swap. There are so many wonderful choices and suggestions, we are befuddled, so, you decide.

For the first week and a half, vote on one of the questions below. Then, you will have another week and a half to vote again and be even more specific.
Also, back by popular demand, Pat Broe will be my Co-Hostess and very able assistant.

Remember, vote for 1 situation.
 Decisions, decisions, decisions….

Happy voting,
Annette

Hello!

I have missed you, too, my quilty friends ...

Annette (and Dusty) are such able swappers that you all know that she really does not need any help and she had a very able co-host last time and a fantastic pattern designed by Debbieann ... that my contributions shall pale in comparison ... nonetheless ... here I be!

( ... fabric addiction ... )

Unfortunately, my piles of fabric have been sitting collecting permanent fold lines for most of the year ... such a sad and lonely stash I have ... and "My Bro" has dust on it ...

I am making efforts here to get back on track to make 2011 the ... ah ... "Year of the Quilt"    ????????

I ran into a friend who works weekends at the LQS while I was out Christmas shopping with my daughter the pther day and she commented on the fact they have not seen much of me lately either.  I really have not been doing any sewing ... still plodding along for a few minutes now and again on my table runner and the last two RRs ... and my own are still sitting unappreciated in their mailing packages ...  ( I need to make ammends) ... and, anyhow ... she and I concluded I was just taking a needed break.  I am binding a quilt for a Christmas gift (which I really could have and should have had done last year) ... and I hope getting these tasks done shall start me enjoying the fabric running thru my fingers again.

I am looking forward to joining all of you in this layer cake swap ... whatever the choice may be ...

... so let's get to voting!!!

Hmmmmmmmmm ... such great choices .... ... what shall I pick ? ...   Pat

I know a way to cheer Miss Pat up ..............

Drum roll please

My 30s layer cakes arrived today!  not bad considered Pat posted it on May 15th earlier this year.  I was so amazed as the packaging was intact but no note to say why it has taken so very long to get to me.  I contacted the Post Office and quite frankly they were not at all interested - busy time of year etc etc blah blah blah.

But anyway, I am joyous and have been stroking all the fabrics and thank you, thank you Pat for all the hard work you put into that swap and for all the kindness afterwards

Milica......I'm shocked,  and thrilled for you.

I guess I didn't follow that closely, thought you had received them thru the summer.

I guess it is a little extra holiday surprize for you. Enjoy your cuddling aren't they just fabulous.

WoW!!! How cool is that!    What a surprise Milica and just enough to start the Season off right. Congratulations.

Welcome back Pat and I know your words of wisdom will keep us all on track. We have missed you so.

Milica ... that is truly amazing!

It does certainly cheer me!! I admit I have been long troubled by the fact that you were missing out on all that fabulous fabric ... and had long ago given up hope that you would ever receive your "just desserts" 30s layer cakes!  I guess everything does indeed come to those who wait!

It is indeed a happy day!   Pat

Okay ladies, we have a "dead heat, neck and neck" race going. We need your ideas about color combinations (let's make it a 2 colors, and apparently, types of fabrics). Please add your ideas to comments here so we have them when we do the next vote after the 13th.

We will vote again on the 13th for a week and a half and then start the swap around Christmas, so you can go looking at fabrics over the 'after Christmas sales' until the last of January...then mail to me....

I can't decide which choice I would rather have... colors, hmmmm.... batiks/blenders, hmmmmm. Either one works for me. Themes would be ok too, however might be harder to find a good variety for everyone. I'm not sure tht I will vote, but want to take part in the swap...either way the vote goes.

Thanks Annette.

You all know I will be happy whichever way the fabric votes go ...

For batiks  ... I think I would like to see a bright rainbow of colors ...

For blenders ... I think I would like to see jewel tone on tones for scrappy blocks  ... or creamy neutrals for scrappy backgounds ...

For a 2 color choice ... hmmmmm ... I have been picking up and stashing some greens and lavender purples with the idea of someday adding white and making a quilt in a scrappy hunter's star pattern ... see photo for the fabrics I am collecting ... just my humble suggestion ...
