Well, Roger (my DH) seems to think I need a new project/pet. Yesterday afternoon we went and looked at puppies...she picked us out and we brought her home.

She is a Dalsky. Well, okay, she is a mutt but that sounds so much better!   She is a cross between a Dalmation (Momma) and a Husky (Daddy). She has a the short coat of a Dalmation & the markings of a Husky, but everywhere she is white, she is spotted like a Dalmation. She has the most amazing blue eyes courtisy of her Husky Dad.

They had named her Zoe, but that will probably change, although we aren't certain yet.

Here she is...

Absolutely Gorgeous! I love those eyes! And some people might call her a mutt, but I say she is just perfect! Look forward to seeing her grow up!

Just thought I would ask for your prayers for Nikki's cat! And of course Nikki too.

Booger has been having some problems and Nikki finally decided to call the vet. I think he tried nicely to let her know that it is probably going to be Luekemia. Booger has been around for almost 11 years. He is almost a solid black manx that was given to her when she was just 13. When she married he went to live with her and she is VERY worried about him. Please say a little prayer for them both. If anything happens to him I think we will all loose a very special kitty!

Jami - look how well behaved she is already... sitting there for that photo.....

Nikki - prayers for Boogers..... it is so hard to have to make those vet visits... We lost our beloved Clyde, a 22 pound maincoon to kitty leukemia almost 13 years ago..... we still miss him... this cat we've had for 11 years is such a different demeanored cat.

Aw, Sherry - I'm so sorry to hear that! I remember when we lost my kitty I grew up with. He stayed with my parents when I married & moved out, but it was still so hard!

Aw Sherry & Nikki, my thoughts and hugs are with you. It is a trying time when these ugly things surface. We have to hang on to the good memories to help us thru the challenging ones.

Jami- your new project/pet is adorable!! My "baby" is a 10 year old golden retriever, who I keep saying will be the last animal we will have. (My son is now in his 3rd year of college and I think that if we want to go somewhere on a whim, that it will be easier if we don't have to worry about who is taking care of the dog)
But everytime a picture of puppies goes up at work, or an ad about the animal shelter is in the paper I keep thinking how cute these puppies are...
After our first dog passed away and everyone said that we need a new puppy to take his place I held firm. I wanted to see what it would be like to not have an animal to be dependant on before we got another puppy. It lasted 3 years, until a cousin had these puppies. That was it!! Had to have one!! And I don't regret it.
Your new addition looks like she could melt anyone's heart. Enjoy her!!

You would not believe how many pictures I took before I had one that wasn't blurry, or with 1/2 a puppy (usually the back 1/2)!

She is starting to learn potty training...still have a few problems, but on the most part, for her age she is doing really good.

Max & Grace are tolerating her...barely. Max has a few toys that are "his" and he will not share. Well, she tried to take his newspaper the other night and Max first growled...didn't faze her...then snapped/bit her. BUT, as he snapped at her, she lunged at him, so the snap turned into a bite and was worse than it was meant to be. Caught the little stinker just below her eye. Talk about cry! A watery eye for a day and all was better. Needless to say, the newspaper is put up until she is older and understands "no" a little better. It's about killing Max not having that paper! He's had it since he was her size. The only rubber type toy that wasn't completely destroyed in their puppy age.

Oh yeah, we ended up naming her "Maya Blue" or "No-No"   whichever fits at the moment. We are calling her Maya for short.

I'll have to tell OUR Maya about this - she'll be tickled - she's always looking for her name on TV etc. As you can likely tell, it's not that common a name.

That's a pretty name Jami! And very fitting with the blue in her eyes!

Just wanted to update you on Nikki's cat, Booger. He went to the vet yesterday and he decided to try an antibiotic for 10 days and said that if there wan't any improvement by the end of this round then it would be leukemia. Only way to tell for sure is a blood test and rather than charging them for that he would rather try this first and then he would know for sure. The antibiotics won't hurt anything so why not try it first. But he really thinks it's not just a bacterial infection. So for now we wait to see any improvement and decide what to do later.

As for now Coby has a new love. He is raising a wild pig! Named him Wilbur! (he loves Charlotte's Web) Bottle feeding it and everything! This is his new baby and it will surely take Booger's place in his heart if anything happens so I guess this is a good thing! Right now it stays in a kennel in the house but when it gets bigger it will go outside in a pen. He's absolutely tiny! And colored like a chipmunk! He really is cute! But still he is a wild pig and will grow cutters and probably be aggressive, so it's the pen when he can stand the cold!

Thanks  for all the postive thoughts and prayers ya'll!

Awwww I hope for the best for Nikki and the rest of you guys. There are always nice surprizes in the world - maybe it is an infection. let's hope.

Now Coby must be in all his glory - Wilbur lol. You will have to try for a pic. He sound so sweet and that tiny........ I hope he enjoys his new pet.
