I've got most of mine ready to go to the postoffice (hopefully today yet, otherwise for sure tomorrow.)

Okay, here is my excuse/story...And I'm sticking to it!!!

My Poor Boy, Max...he had surgery to remove some "funny" bumps (everything came back okay...no cancer!!! Yippee!!). He hated me for days afterwards! Our last run to the Vet was this morning...He has an infection in his side from the surgery. Poor, poor boy!

All of my cards and recipes are winging their way all over the world as of about 20 minutes ago! Also, I got two already from Jennifer and Betty Jo ("Name of Recipe"--I love it! ). Thanks, ladies!

Poor Max! He looks so pathetic. I do not think he likes the cone of shame.

Mine are going out today. Sorry a bit late but they will arrive for christmas.

Jami My staffy dog Rosie had a big lump taken off her neck 8 weeks ago and she was so miserable for a couple of days. It was not cancer either. Thank god. It only took about a week before she was her self again. I hope Max feels better really soon. Could you give him a cuddle from me?

Cheers Jackie.

My cards will be going out today.  Have had them addressed for several days but each time I go to town I forget to take them along!!  No, I don't have any "holiday stress" - Nope - not me!!!

My old Chocolate Lab (a rescue from the street) has several lumps and I really need to get him to the vet soon.  I've heard that if the lump is soft and wiggles when you push on it, it's benign and not cancerous - but still, I'm not taking any chances!  Poor Charlie has been through enough without having cancer yet.

My cards are in the mail!!!  You all got a bonus from me - two recipes instead of one - just couldn't waste the backside of the paper I printed them on, so I put my Mom's (and Dad's) favorite cookie recipe on the back.

And doesn't it figure that the person who works for the Postal Service can't manage to get hers mailed? But we don't have a post office in the building I work in and frankly, it's just been too darn cold to hike over - the nearest one is about 4 blocks away and we've been in the deep freeze for several days now. I promise I'll get it tended to this weekend.

Betty Jo, thanks so much for the lovely card, letter and recipe!! I will definitely be making these - I guess it's mandatory to use butter?? :) I always use margerine, but hey, what's one lb. of butter, huh? I'm really looking forward to getting the rest. Mine will have to go out Monday - I braved the snow covered roads to get some groceries, but it's getting colder by the minute. Didn't get close to a postoffice.

Delia, I'm glad you needed a non-stinky gingerbread man recipe! This is a recipe we make every year... we also use it to make gingerbread houses. We bake it crispier so that it holds up the construction. When we had little ones around, I would make a gingerbread house and fill it with candy and toys then glue on the lid (roof). On Christmas Eve we would let the children break it (kind of like a pinata). We would put it in the center of a table and let the youngest child try first, then work backwards in age. It was always so well "glued" that it took a while for it to come apart. Once the roof was pryed off, they all grabbed the candy and goodies and broke apart the house to eat the cookie. I have pictures of this from almost every year... I think this year I'll put them in an album for the "children" who are all married or grown... some with children of their own!

I received cards from Jenn, Betty Jo, Kim and Annette.. thank you all! The cards and recipes are great... I plan to try them out right away. Betty Jo's "Name of Recipe cookies" will be today. Ok, Betty Jo, what's the REAL name? I'm going to call them Christmas Card cookies for now... they sound wonderful.

I have to tell everyone from some place outside of the US that there may be a problem getting your cards. I had the pile by the door last week, ready to mail out and Al did me a favor and took them to the post office. WELL... he thought they were all US cards so he put one regular stamp on them and put them in the box. I talked to the post office (after I found out what he did) and they said that the cards MAY come back to me OR may be delivered with postage owed. PLEASE LET ME KNOW... I will resend them if they come back but if there is something owed I'll send it to you. Of course, Al is NOT allowed to touch my mail from now on!

Deb, don't worry about it - it would only be a few cents - no big deal. Al just forgets that we quilters are EVERYWHERE!!! At least he remembers to mail things - I deal with all the mailings here!
