I don't know how many of you are interested in hand embroidery (not counted cross stitch), but I thought I'd start posting some sites - mainly blogs - that offer free patterns (usually as part of or with patchwork instructions for quilts/quilty useful items)

Here's the first http://gumtreedesigners.blogspot.com/

This is 9 Australian ladies - they all have their own blogs, most offer free BOMs, others the occasional freebie, but they are now into week 4 of offering Christmas patterns for small gifts or home dec items. The free BOMs are still available - each designer has a link to her own blog - and there will be free patterns all through the year from the group as a whole, as well as their own freebies on their blogs. Grab a cuppa and go read.

I have found quite a few others, so will add them to this thread as I get to them. Today's is a good start for you all.

I'm thinking maybe she means we tempt her to make more things than she has time for?? she can't afford the time to look? to stitch? to make? LOL

Sorry, Sara, but they want me to keep on posting finds (and I'm not the only one doing it) - I'd say "don't look" but we both know that doesn't work - it's all the more tempting to look when you don't want to. I know I'll never make a fraction of what I find, but half the fun's in the looking (and saving).

And Cindy's right, these are FREE!! there are some mighty generous ladies out there in the big wide world who love to share with us. Those are the best prices!

Ya know .... I think I either need to grow 2 or 3 extra sets of hands or clone myself. If I live to be 1000 I'll never get to all these projects LOL

Click on "Freebies" and you'll find LOTS of free patterns, all in PDF format, and each file contains several sizes.
