Well, BLOW ME OVER!! I didn't realize there was a runner up prize... WOW!!! Thanks, everyone :) :) :) I really do love my ugly now... it has a way of growing on you. I'm thinking of giving it to my youngest brother. He's the only one that I haven't made a quilt for... AND HE'S A HUNTER so this fabric will suit him.

I'm trying to get this quilt done before I leave Arizona... I've started piecing the back and bought the batting. Anyone ever try the green batting from recycled bottles? It was on sale so I thought I would give it a try.

Congrats to you Deb. Great quilt.

Never heard of green batting. I'm curious how does it feel to touch. It is certainly a unique concept.

Hugs and stitches

Congrats Pat and Deb!  Loved all the new pretty "uglies".  Voting was difficult.   Well done everyone! Sandy

Sally, I did see that fabric somewhere but just can't remember where. I thought at the time that I just might want to buy a tad more... wasn't sure how many centers I would need. I didn't though... and I ALMOST ran short. Used every bit of that FQ... there were a few small pieces leftover that I worked into the backing. When I get it all quilted I'll put up a picture of the back. It's very ...hmmm...what's the word... Liberated :) Just stitched all my leftovers and mistakes together.
Do you ever shop at Mulqueens in Mesa? They have a section of landscape fabrics in the same line but a few different colors. Plus it's only 6.95/yd for all the fabrics. AND there's a coupon in the "country register" for 40% off on cut of fabric. I went there today and bought a 2 yard piece of fabric to take home. Not sure what I'm making yet but I just loved it....

Yes, Deb will receive a GC too! Congrats Deb! You certainly deserve it as well, with the ugliest thing ever made becoming such an awesome quilt.

Pat and Deb - I will be in the store later today or tomorrow and will send you your prizes then.

After the retreat, I will start a thread for the next challenge. Someone elbow me in the ribs if I forget.

My ugly is on my machine, with the machine paused in the needle down position. I stepped away to be with the kids... and that took several days! I am working on retreat stuff for the next few days, then will try to finish it up. It will only take another hour or two and will be done. Sorry mine is so tardy!

I finished it at the retreat, and gave it to Mom (it is an apron for her for Mother's Day, but she wouldn't wait!).

She loves toille, so I knew she would like it. I was going to cut up the fq and use it in bits, but she wanted it front and center. Asked me specifically to use it on the pocket. I went to the LQS where I teach and they had some more recent stuff, by the same designer, that was very similar. It is the green toille. The background filler of the green fabric is even identical to that of the original red FQ. The pattern called for ric rac but I opted for antique looking lace, as that is more Mom's style.

Here is a are TWO really bad FANTASTIC pictures of the apron... I took a photo of a photo with my phone! Jami said she would send me this pic so I will have a better copy. I didn't get any pics of it! Silly me. I know the other ladies at the retreat did. Ahem, someone want to post a better pic for me?  you're welcome, jess   isn't our model just lovely???

LOL Jess! I'm so glad she liked it because I couldn't think of ANYTHING to do with that thing! And I really can't believe you found a matching green. I'm astounded.

Lovely modeling, Connie!
