Hi ladies -

I am going to moderate a Hexagon discussion session this Friday (thanks Donna for the current events idea!!).

Since I know loads of you are doing the tuna can method, and I am doing a different method, I thought we might get together and chat about it. Come along and tell us about your hexagons, the way you like to make them. Bring tips and tricks and questions when you come!!

Anyone up for that? Friday night, 6 PM Central, The Snug Chat Room.

I may or may not be there. Depends on how lost I get at Martha Pullen's sewing market which is this weekend in Arlington.

Oh, Jenn, you're going to Martha's sewing market!? I'm so jealous! Several years ago she was the featured guest at the Hands On Sewing School. I just love her!

Jess, I haven't made any hexagons (well, not in a long time) but read Cindy's tutorial, and I think I might like to try it! I'll try to make the discussion Friday...can't add any wisdom, but maybe I can soak some up!

Yep. I've been going almost every year to her market for the last several years. I get all kinds of ideas from her stuff, and she's the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. I keep hoping one of these years I'll win a machine (they give away one of the really expensive embroidery machines every year). Lord knows I could put that thing to good use!!

Fabulous chat everyone!! Let's see if I can remember everyone that was there:

Jess
Jenn
Cindy
Donna
Connie
Gerda
Midge

Hope I got everyone. We talked about English Paper Piecing, Tuna Can Method, Stamping Hexes, all kinds of templates, Quilt as you go Hexes, etc. Also touched on quilt care. It was a fabulous chat!! If you couldn't make this one, mark your calendar next month for our discussion session. We all walk away with new information!

Marion, what's the time difference between you and Sydney, AU? I think it's a 16 hour time difference with me (mountain time, which is an hour earlier than Central, which is what we go by here on the forum) - I know Midge (sunshine) is in Brisbane or thereabouts, she has come on chat on Fridays occasionally. I think it's midmorning for her or closer to noon? I don't get into chat anymore either - I have my granddaughters every Friday from around 4:30 overnight to Saturday evening, and I am making supper then and usually one or the other has shanghaied my computer. It's such fun - I sure hope you can get in sometime.

Marion, here is a world time zone map http://www.worldtimezone.com/
It looks like you are two hours ahead of Brisbane/Sydney, and right now, as I write this, it is 6:05 PM Saturday in Central North America (the QnN time zone slot) and 11:05 AM Sunday morning your time. So if you wanted to join in the Friday chat (or special ones, like the book club) - you would need to be online here at 10:00 AM Saturday morning to join us at 6 PM here (it would be 5 PM for me - I'm an hour west). I hope this helps!

Actually, this chart is much easier - just look for HOUSTON, and you will have Central time here in North America http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/  Gerda
