Hello, my friends ...

I strongly believe in the power of group prayer ...

Tomorrow, our oldest son, Jonathan, will be having his gall bladder removed in a non-invasive day surgery at about 11:30am EDT.  He has been in a lot of pain lately and has been having to watch his diet very closely and has not been enjoying his food and has not been able to be as active as he has always been ... he greatly enjoys the outdoors and hiking, running, canoeing, kayaking and rowing in particular.

We are all hoping that this surgery will releve his pain and that he will be able to enjoy life again.

This is the same son who recovered from an infected Lyme disease tick bite last year.

Jon is the biologist ... my Eagle Scout .... a calm, practical, quiet guy ... very steady and reliable ... a rock for me recently when his Dad was in the hospital. He is turning 26 later this month and has always been quite healthy and active. It has been a difficult year health-wise for him.  On a happier note, this last year he completed a degree program nights and weekends while working in a R&D lab and he has developed a steady relationship with a lovely young woman, who will be taking him to the hospital tomorrow.

Mom will be home praying and waiting by the phone.

Thank you all for praying with me ...   Pat

Thanks to all for your healing wishes and prayers ...

My son is home and the operation went fine.  He has been very ill from the meds and they kept him at the hospital for some extra recovery time ... I just spoke to him a short while ago on the phone and he sounds very groggy ...

... time for rest and sleep and healing ...   Pat

Good Morning ... drizzily and dreary here

I will be out of touch today ... I am going over to my stay with my son ... he has been having trouble keeping anything down and is not supposed to sleep all day (which is what he will do if left to follow his own inclinations) ... I am sure he will be over the after effects of the operation soon, but continued prayers for his recovery would be much appreciated ...

thank you, all, for praying with me ...   Pat

Prayers are said :)

....on another note, what exactly does a gall bladder do? Since so many of us seem to live just fine without one. I've always wondered!
