Here we go Ladies!!

1.The size or your medallion must be between 15.5" and 18.5", unfinished.

2.The size of the blocks in the rows will be between 4.5" and 6.5", unfinished (I am awful at math. This is what we've done before though. Let me know if the numbers need to be different )

3.Borders will be chosen by the person putting the border on. Following any specific instructions or avoiding any specific fabrics/colors that the medallion maker states on her form. They can be pieced, appliqued or embroidered. Matching colors so the quilt harmonizes. *anyone who wants to send along some fabric that you want added to your top, is fine also. Setting the top on point is fine too, but you can't add a regular border if you do.

4.You will have 6 wks to finish your border and get it in the mail

5. You always send to the person that is on the list below you. The last person, sends to the first person on the list.

Please, please remember, you signed up for this so it's a commitment that will last us most the year. If you can't finish it for WHATEVER reason, pleeeeassse just talk to us! We can work it out, I promise :)

When is the date to have our medallions in the mail by?

I know it is after the first of the year but thought it might be nice to have it here so we could all refer back to it!

Still need to figure out what I want to do for mine!!!

Well Ladies,

Has anyone got their medallion done?? I haven't even started, I don't even have a THOUGHT as to what I want this go around. LOL. I am having a hard enough time getting Christmas stuff quilted. Sigh~

Are you all in the same boat as I? I would love to see pictures of any finished medallions

I have one *hanging around* I can use....but am kind of wanting to make a different one- hopefully I will find time to do something different, but if I run out of time I will go with this (UFO) that has been hanging in my sewing room for over a year. (may be the only way it ever turns into quilt) we shall see what happens. :)

I have a few ideas floating around in my head.... need to narrow down my choices and get with it.... I'm thinking of very scrappy... and sending along a white and a solid color to be used to anchor and add cohesiveness.   need to narrow down my color choice....

ok ladies... I have a question for you...

I'm working on my medallion...

I am doing scrappy 30's prints... a clear blue accent and Kona white.   I am including the clear blue and the kona  white in my package to go with the medallion.

My question is....  Is there anyone who does not have 30's in their stash?   I have lots of prints from various swaps, and if needed, would send some along as well, but don't want to add too much  to the package that it is more expensive to send along.

I have thought about sending a small amount  of each of the solid fabrics to Jacqui in England .  She could just keep what ever she doesn't use, and I could send another batch to the person that follows her so that the international shipping isn't as expensive for either of us.

Jacqui... do you have 30's prints?  I can send a baggie of prints along as well... and as I said, you can add what you don't use to your scrap bag.

I also plan on including 40 extra 3 1/2" four patch blocks of 30's that I made extra while using up a bunch of 2" pre-cut squares that I had.  These can be used by whomever claims them first in one of the borders.   Add to them from your own scraps, or whatever...  If no one uses them before they get back to me, I'll probably use them in a final border when it returns home.

I'm getting excited to work on everyone's creations this coming year. and by the looks of it, I may even make the mailing deadline next Thursday!

That sounds lovely Denise!

I don't own any '30s fabrics.  You might have to link me to a few places that sells ones you would want in your quilt top, as I don't even know where I would look for some

I, too, need to get busy on my medallion, I haven't even figured out what I want to do this time around!!

 ok,  here it is....

Here is a picture of my medallion...  18 1/2" square....

Dorian... I am happy to send some of my 30's stash along...  the pile has been growing for several years... and I need to bust it some... nowhere like my own quilt!   Especially since I want it to look very scrappy, and I hate to ask anyone to buy FQs that they may never use again for a few squares.

Since our borders are no more than 6" wide,  and I want the white and blue used as well, it only makes sense.  Like I said earlier, I have participated in several different 30's swaps over the last several years, as well as my own stash enhancement.  I have 1 1/2"  strips,  2 1/2" strips, 3" strips,  6" strips,  10x10 layer cakes, and yardage, as well as smaller pieces  that are scraps from projects.   I used a ton of 2" squares when I made my medallion, and have the extra 44  four patches that will finish at 3", all a mix of the prints used above.  They can be used as well.  I do plan on sending a package with the extra fabric to Sherry, (since she follows Jacqui), with some of the blue ( which I've had for over 20 years, so I don't think we can match it, but I have about 5 yards of it here left from another project.) Some Kona White, and a mix of the 30's from my drawer.   This package can then join my medallion as it travels the USA.  If it seems that the selection is getting slim as my medallion progresses, I would happily send more to the next person.   (I just don't want Jacqui to have to pay the extra shipping to send a large package back over the pond.)

If members want to add prints from their own 30's stash, the more the merrier.....

If someone is  wanting to spend $$$, and is hoping to add to their own collections and want a variety, Keepsake quilting has some small packs of mixed reproductions...  a 50 piece pack of 5" charms is $14.oo plus shipping     Connecting Threads have a 29 piece pack of 5" charms for $3.oo... both companies have sets of 2 1/2" strips,  and other precuts available.

Jacqui... I will send you some.. and as I said earlier,  whatever blue, white or scraps are left after your border, just add them to your personal pile, and I will send a second batch to Sherry to travel the USA.

I love seeing our quilts take shape as they travel the country so I am all for showing the pictures of each round...only thing is I've never been able to post a picture on this board- so in order to participate in that activity I will have to *email* pics to someone who can-is willing to submit them for me. sorry.

Here's my block. I haven't posted a pic in a while hope this works
I like Earth tones Like browns, creams and yellows, greens, orange, I would like the applique block to pop so would like pieced or paper piece blocks around the applique block.

Very nice block :) I'll post a pic of mine tomorrow hopefully.

Can I just ask everyone that if I am the next on your list, as you won't actually be mailing your preferences sheet  ( because your RR isn't coming over the pond ) Could you PM me or email me with your preferences as to fabrics, colours etc :) as well as posting a pic :) and sending measurements :)

Lovely block Dawn!

I have just three corners to miter, than I will take a picture and post it.

Good idea Jacqui! I hadn't thought about that.

We can all put it here on the forum too. When you post a pic of your medallion, you can put your preferences/colors like Denise did.

And Jacqui, when you make a border for someone, please send an email to the medallion owner, with your comments.

Ok Ladies,

Here's my medallion... I still have to iron it

My preferences are easy. What ever you feel will make this beauty shine :) The colors can be the same or blend nicely. Just make it purty

OK I am going to try and add my medallion now :) As for my preferences, I really do not mind, as long as the colours play well with each other then I shall be happy :). PLus although I have used a plain fabric as my background I really don't mind TOT :)

I have my block finished- I did make a new one instead of sending the one I've had 'hanging around' for ages. I will send a pic tomorrow- I have a question though- i'm sending to Dawn- in Canada- I thought there was something mentioned about what to put on the customs slip so it wouldn't cost her a lot ... but scrolling through the posts I haven't found anything...wondering- do I put 'gift' ? and like $5 value...I don't want to do that part wrong & cost her.

Hello everyone,

Time for an update. I finished my medallion center and it's in the mail this morning. I have put a piece of my main fabric in the package along with the medallion. Later, I will mail more of that pinecone fabric for each of you for use in your border. I didn't want to mail a big chunk and add to postage for all of you, so I will send individual pieces to each of you. If there are left-overs, you can either keep them, or send them along with the round robin. I will post a photo so you can all see what you'll be working with. The deep green is from the fusions line and the brown in the corners is probably a Moda Marble. I am hoping to see some nice rich greens and deep browns and whites used in the borders - along with the pinecone fabric. That will tie it all together so well. This is going to be such fun. Can't wait to see what I'll be working with first.

One question - do you other gals want my fabric sent to you now, or would you rather wait until you have my medallion in your possession? I can do it either way. If I wait until my medallion is at your house, my extra piece of fabric won't have a chance to get lost. But I"ll leave it up to you.

Denise, as for the question about 30's fabrics, I am sure I don't have any in my stash, but I probably have solids or tone on tones that would work. If you want to send me something to add to my border for your medallion, that would be lovely.

Karen in Wisconsin

Karen lovely medallion . Although I will not need your fabric for a while yet you can send it when you feel best. As it has to come overseas it seems silly to wait til it gets to 'my' turn. I look forward to adding to it :)

Jacqui

Edited to add.. Please only send a small amount to me Karen as I don't want it to risk it getting lost. TY

Thanks for the nice comments Dorian and Jacqui, it was fun to make that one. I hunted for ages, trying to decide which block to make and which fabric to use. Finally just had to jump in and get it done. I would like my round robin to stay really "woodsy and rustic" looking, with plenty of greens and browns and of course the fabric I'll share with each of you. I love that pine cone fabric (has metallic accents, by the day) and have been saving it for a special occasion. I can't wait to see what you gals do with my choices and I can't wait to work on yours.

Jacqui - I'll send that fabric to you fairly soon and I'll be sure to post here when it's safely in the mail.

Wow... these are all going to be awesome to work on...

Jacqui... I will post the fabric bits tomorrow or Sat.  I had to buy more of the white today and it is now in the wash.... ready to go into the dryer.

My medallion is 18 1/2" unfinished.    The individual squares in the four patches started out as 2" squares... the blue blocks with the print corners were originally 3 1/2" squares.   Kona Ultra White and the solid blue along with some 30's scraps coming your way soon!

Sherry... how soon would you like me to mail my medallion to you?  now,  or when it's time to mail for the next round?   I understand you will stitch Jacqui's border onto my medallion before you put your border on.....

someone please correct me if I have this wrong.....

Thank You for the info Denise, and the fabrics   I shall send you some FQ's in return

Ok Dorian I have another question, sorry... I planned on using 3 1/2" blocks, which go into the 18" nicely :) however, that would only make the border 3 1/2" tall......... as the borders need to be up to 6.5" could I 'border' my blocks and it count as 1 border?...... not explaining that very well... or would I be better making 6" ( finished ) blocks?... I don't want to 'drowned' the medallion blocks by putting something too big on it if you understand me....... Denise, what do you think? Please let me know :)

I sent the picture of my center to Dorian this morning- she has been kind enough to handle my pictures for me through this program. my center measures 15 1/2" x 18" and is an applique - I do need to let you know (*Dawn) it is packaged & ready to go- but I am working 8am-8pm for the next 6 days in a row- *hoping Thursday I get out earlier- but in actuality I may be working those hours until Saturday* so, the soonest it will get to the post office is Thursday afternoon- good chance it will be Saturday morning. sorry for being late.

Karen, do you want only green/white/brown/pinecone fabrics? Or are other colors welcome too?

Jacqui, I think you would be ok stacking your 3.5" borders so there are two of them, is that what you mean?

Yes Denise, Sherry will have to sew Jacqui's border on to your medallion.

Here is Colleens' lovely medallion.

Denise, those are my preferred colors, but if you have something else you think fits with my fabrics and the theme, then go for it.  I'm sure when you see the pinecone fabric, you'll find other shades and perhaps other colors that will blend nicely and set off the center.  Do what you think looks good and something you would be happy to have yourself.

Colleen, what an interesting medallion. I'm already starting to think of things I can put along with that. But I want to see the colors and prints in person before I made any decisions. Maybe if I am careful, I can add some applique to my border - will have to consider that.

Anyone else have a photo of their medallion to share with us. I can't wait for my first one to come in the mail. I hope we all share lots of photos as this goes along.

Yes Ms Jacqui, I will get an album thread going.

I emailed Ms Sherry this morning. Life has been a bit hectic, but it's winding down for her. She is hoping to post a pic over the weekend.

Ok Karen, thanks!

Okay, I found some orphan blocks that I bought for 50 cents at a garage sale that have been asking to be used in something! So they have been used! Here is my block. It measures 18 1/2" square and the second photo is of it with the extra stuff that came in the bag with them. There are extra little blocks and lots of scrap fabric too. If anybody wants some sent to them to use in borders I will gladly send it to you! I am going to enclose a piece of the multicolored border too, just encase! If it all gets used and anybody needs more, just let me know if you want more!

Okay this should all be in the mail on Monday and if I got the list right, I am mailing to Karen!

I don't think I mentioned it before, but the fabric in my medallion has NOT been washed, so if you gals could use fabric that has NOT BEEN washed, it would work out a lot better. Maybe this is something we should all list here on the thread. Some people wash everything first, some don't. I can do either when working on the medallions, I just would like to know who has washed theirs and who hasn't.

Sherry, I love the center blocks and what a bright colored piece of fabric you are using around it. That's going to be fun to work on. I have a great black here, so that's no problem. Will have to see what else I have in the black and white combinations - now I've got something to think about while waiting for your medallion to reach me.

Jacqui.... two stacked smaller borders will be perfect!

Karen... I am a "washed" person.....  Nothing goes into my stash shelves or drawers w/o a swish through the wash.   I don't do mine in hot water, usually cold with a cold rinse, unless it's flannel, then I do two trips through with hot water and a hot dryer because it shrinks so much.  I wash more to get the chemicals out,  I also want to know how much "hand" a fabric has w/o all that sizing in it.  If it comes out like a limp dishrag, I send it on to charity backs at our local guild.  Price is not always a good indication of how "cheesy" a fabric can be once it's washed, either.    Back in the days when I worked fabric retail, fabrics came with a smell of fermaldyhyde (used as a shipping precaution).  I got in the habit of washing most all my fabrics then, (except for wools and bridal dept. goods... ).

I believe that the latest  debate is that when being used for piecing, it doesn't matter much, because there is such limited shrinkage on pieces that are small.   But when using full yardage in a single piece such as backings, it might make a difference.

I am not a washer. I've never had problems with it either, but I will certainly wash any fabrics before I put them on a medallion, if someone wants me to. Just let me know.

I'm getting excited!! Can't wait to start working on these. I have always loved Round Robins

can't wait to get started...have sewing time again.

Hi Sherry so nice to see you, sorry life has been getting in the way

I have mailed my medallion off to you.. according to my slip it says Jan 2nd 12:27 p.m. lol Yes you are adding a border to it. I mailed it because it will then stay in the USA and not travel backwards and forwards. You will also recieve Denises medallion which I shall make a border for and mail to you, then you add the border I made for Denise and then your own. clear as mud? Thank you so much for doing this for me.

Jacqui xx

Dawn, my center is on it's way! yea! my receipt does not give me an *expected delivery date* probably because of customs- but it went out in today's mail (1/11/14) so, hopefully it will arrive safely within a week or so. and I received the one coming to me- and I actually have my work schedule straightened out again- so I should be able to stay on track from now on. :)

Yes, Sherry,

Your Medallion arrived on Friday, I think.  It's marvelous and I have my favorite black fabric and a great white as well already on the cutting board.  I am doing a bit of thinking before I start - I've been swamped the past few days, but I know your Medallion will "speak" to me soon and then I'll get to work on it.  I want to make sure it is happy.  And I have to dig out my book on pieced borders to get some interesting ideas.

Jacqui dear, yours arrived yesterday!

I haven't opened it just yet because I had just gotten home when Robby called and needed me to bring a power of attorney back to his dad's to get it signed before he goes to rehab. So I had more running around to do after work.

Happy happy happy to get started!!!

Dawn, wondering if you received the block yet? sent it on the 11th- so I know, it's only been 10 days & customs can slow things down- I just hope it gets there before your trip. I finished working on Dorian's center today- as sending her pics to post in the album- I will package it up but will not mail it out until the 'mail date' for the next one- or when you tell me you are ready for me to send it. :)

Dawn and Cherie... your borders are fantastic!  still mulling over what to put on Dawn's.... flying geese?   sawtooth ?  dog tooth?   I'm afraid that a full bear paw block would be too overpowering at this point, but I'm thinking maybe some scattered individual paws.....  sew many choices!

Here's my row on Karen's medallion. Hope you like it.

Just a reminder, the borders are due to go out on Feb 13th, which is next Thursday. So lets get 'em done, if you haven't yet.

Jacqui, is working thru pictures/etc going ok? Were you able to make a border successfully for Denise's medallion?

I stitched some blocks for Dawn's border this afternoon... they are auditioning on the design wall as I type.  I'll decide in the morning if I like it or not.

Watching some Olympics.... and staying in out of the snow and freezing rain.....

Here it is....  my border on Dawn's medallion

Jacqui... I have an envelope with a sample of the two fabrics I used coming your way.

Dawn's top now measures 27.5 inches square. unfinished....

It will go out in the mail to Sherry later this week, (Wed or Thurs)... ( I'm going to let the lines at the post office die down for a day or two after our snow storm.... ) along with my medallion.

Sherry.. will you please let me know when it gets there?   thanks.

gorgeous border, ladies!  I am always amazed by the awesome talent of our quilters on this forum   it just makes me swell up with pride!

Denise, thanks for the awesome photos for Jacqui!  I know she is thrilled (as I am too!) that we finally figured out a better way for our overseas quilters to participate in the RRs without worry over packages getting lost

Wonderful addition to my center.  It really looks like it belongs there. You did good!!   I need to get some fabric sent out to the other girls right away.  I am sorry to report I have not worked on the center I have here yet.  My computer died a couple weeks ago and I'm at a neighbor's right now checking in.  Would someone email me a list of the names and addresses, so I know where the center I have here  should go next and who I should send some of my fabric to.

Sorry for the delay.  Will get the center done quickly and get it in the mail.  For some reason,I thought I had until the end of the month.

Mine will be delayed a bit. Have decided what border to add and have the fabrics out and ready to go. But I think I have the flu and can barely walk from the living sofa to the bathroom without being exhausted. Want to do a good job so will wait until I feel better. Had so much to do this weekend. Why couldn't it have waited until Monday or Tuesday. Was supposed to go to family gathering tomorrow for father in laws 93rd birthday. Not a good idea to go, he just got out of hospital. Sorry for delay. Will keep you posted.

oooooh lovely borders :) I have snet mine off to Sherry now :) I really enjoyed doing it, but it is a challenge not having the actual medallion there to 'fit' it on to lol Denise I do hope you like what I have done for yours ;) I will say I made Square in Square 3" blocks for the first border and appliqued hearts 3" blocks for the second border xx I think I already know what block I am making for Dawns. Denise, those pics are just amazing, it makes it so much easier to make a decision AND ( hopefully lol ) make things fit :)
Thank YOu Denise AND Sherry for helping me take part :)
Have fun sewing ladies :)

Colleen, Karen's medallion should reach you on Friday.

((Karen)) I hope you're feeling better now.

I'm sorry Jacqui. I so hope that your border fits nicely onto the medallion though. Cause I am REALLY HAPPY you have joined in the RR. But I'm sorry you have to do it without the medallion to attach your border too. It sounds darling.

Has everyone else been able to get their first border off to the next sewer?

Morning Girls,

I am totally back to normal today. Been taking it easy, didn't want to rush back to work and end up with a relapse. Took my dead computer in to be repaired yesterday - they are estimating 2-4 weeks, but it's usually sooner. And we were able to stop at our favorite pizza place for a late Valentine's treat. So now life gets back to normal. Warm sunny day here, but 6-10 inches of new snow expected tomorrow - though I have no idea where they will push it when they plow. Driveways are narrower and narrower, ditches are full and piled high and I may not see my gardens until June or July at this rate.

I'm off to the kitchen this morning to back 2 banana cream pies. I was supposed to bake them for my father-in-law's birthday gathering on Sunday, but I was too sick to stand up and work and never made it to the party. But today is his actual birthday, so we'll do them today. We'll keep one pie and my husband will take the other one over to his dad's when he visits later today. After that, the day is mine, mine, all mine. I can't wait to get to the sewing machine. I'll be doing the borders on that medallion this afternoon and it should be in the mail tomorrow. And I'll also be mailing off pieces of my focus fabric to all of you tomorrow. So please watch for it and use it. If you have extra left, send it along with the medallion, someone doing the later borders might need anything you have left over. I'll include a little cash so you won't have to pay the extra postage out of your own pocket. Thanks a lot.

I'll update you tomorrow and I should have a photo to post to show you what I did. Have a great day everyone.

Karen in Wisconsin

I have been running a bit behind. Sorry for being late telling you but I swear I came in here several days ago and posted but looks like my post disappeared. That or I forgot to hit submit when I finished! Just wanted to update you all. My fil had a stroke on the 1st of January and another one 8 days later. He has been in and out of the hospital and rehab since then. Just a about 2 weeks ago, I think, we found out he has very advanced liver cancer. We have brought him home with us and are keeping him comfortable. He is 81 today and in a very fragile state.
I will get mine done, Lord willing, this week-end, so as not to fall too far behind.
P.S. Please keep us in your prayers!

<div>Sherry, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Please let me know when you put your round robin in the mail, so I can be watching for it. I am delighted to report that I put the round robin into the mail this morning and I also sent pieces of my focus fabric out to the rest of you gals. I think it will help you do a nice border around my center medallion. I had hoped to have it in the mail sooner, but my trucker son came off the road with a horrible cold that he was nice enough to share with his father and I. So now we are both miserable. He thought it would be nice to camp out here and have someone feed and care for him, but I was so tempted to tell him to go to his own apartment, so I wouldn't catch his cold. I'm going to try and post a photo, but I don't know if this computer has a program to downsize the file. In the meantime, Dorian, be watching for a package.  The center seemed dynamic and busy and I didn't want to draw attention from it, so I added a border to frame it and set it off.  It may seem a bit simple, but I think it frames it nicely and allows the center to shine.  Perhaps Dorian will add a bolder border, now that there is a quiet space around the center.</div><p> Karen in Wisconsin</p>

Hi Sherry,

I sent each of the gals taking part in the round robin a piece of my focus fabric. Please keep it in a safe place until my project reaches you. I was afraid I would use up the fabric on another project so I decided to send a piece to each of you so you can use it when the time comes.   Now you can see what my fabric is like andbe watching for fabrics in your stash to go along with it. If anyone wants to send me something go use in their projects I will pin the fabric to my bulletin board so it won't get lost.

Just put the fabric in a safe place until my project reaches you. Thanks for checking in and letting me know you got it.

Karen, I received Sherry's RR. All I can say is WOW, the pictures here don't do it justice.

Sherry, you sent the  tyedye fabric along and want us to use a bit of it, right? Or can we use other colorful fabrics? My dh loves the black/white splashy print you used in the center of the medallion, do you know what line it is?

a little behind reporting but I received Karen's {quilt} from Dorian, and a couple days later the pinecone fabric to go with it. it is my weekend to work- and my sewing/quilting rooms are going through (demolition/construction) this coming week- so I will have a week or so to ponder come up with the perfect border for this one. :)
I've been waiting for 7 years for this 'remodel' to actually happen- and have been assured it will only take a couple days...here's to hoping. :) I am going to keep certain items (and a machine within easy reach just in case I need to take over the dining room (that should keep it moving. :) )
will keep you posted. :)

Just a reminder... mailing of the second border is due to go out in 3 days :)

How is everyone doing? getting your border done? having troubles? we are all soooo quiet here!! lol

I have had a plan for Sherries for a few weeks now, got the fabrics out yest, got my sizes I needed to cut.... and promptly cut pieces out for doing 24 HSTs.... the problem is... I was NOT using hst's!!!!  now I don't have enough black to do what was planned... sigh~

So I am not sure if I will come up with a different design using those hst's, or if maybe I can pick up some black while in town today.

Here are photos of Colleen's top as it is progressing.   I am sending a swatch to Jacqui for her to fondle.....  I had originally planned something more complex.... but when I auditioned the fabrics around Dawn's border, they all seemed to smoosh together.  So I found this pale blue/grey batik in my stash, which seemed to bring the pale blue out in Colleen's medallion center....    I'll send an pm to Jacqui with all the measurement particulars...

Sherry...Think I'll just hang on to this one until next mailing time...  or if Jacqui mails sooner than May.... and you want to get started.. in that case, let me know... thinking I'll pack two together and possibly save on postage.

Oh how fun Karen!! I was just checking to make sure all was well with you :)

Colleen, this bling-blang RR will be off to you tomorrow. LOL. It's not Sherry's fault, and her RR is fun, but I have had nothing but problems with it  I am going to blame Donna and Barb, they were having problems with what they were working on a week or so ago... and they jinxed me

Beautiful border Dorian :)

Karen, Sherry has been held up because an error I made, plus the mail seems to have taken its time getting there, so really it is my fault that you haven't recieved anything to work on yet. I am a little behind with my borders so unfortunately this is having a knock on effect for Sherry. Please bear with me, I AM working on them and I shall catch up so things are on time soon. This is NOT Sherrys fault, it is mine. My apologies for holding everyone up.

It is not your fault Jacqui!

I have finally finished my border on your center and will pop it in the mail if I can get by the po today! If not, it will be tomorrow!

I was just about done adding your border to Denise's when I found a mistake I made last night. So have a little frog stitching to do and will finish it off hopefully tonight. Then I will be adding mine.

I will post pictures tonight after I get home from work!

Thanks for being patient ladies!

Yes, I have alot going on but this little bit of sewing I get to do sure helps take my mind off our worries!

Love ya'll bunches!

And PLEASE don't stress Jacqui! You are NOT putting me behind!

Hey Jacqui, don't be so hard on yourself sweetie. We all knew, going into this round, that mail could be  longer coming from you. I don't think any of us are upset over it. I, for one, am just happy you are playing this time around :)

Dawn, have you gotten your computer issues straightened out?

Hello everyone,

Dorian - nice job on that border. That project is growing nicely and I think it's going to look wonderful at the end. Would love to see other photos when anyone gets something finished.

Sherry - I'll be watching for your package - can't wait to see what I get to work on next.

Jacqui - Did you receive my sample of fabric? It was mailed ages ago.

Trying to catch up on things after my vacation, but my darling husband put a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle on the dining room table and did the easy parts while I was gone. NOW he says he can't tell between the colors in all the trees and wants ME to finish it. I had lots of my own plans, but we hate to give up on a puzzle, so I've been spending more time workingon the puzzle than working here on the computer or doing any sewing. I did manage to finish the sky yesterday and my husband finished the mountains - now we just have all the trees in hundreds of shades of green. Wonder if we will be sane when this is all done. . .

I have fallen a little behind- Dorian, I received a package I believe came from you- Sherry's- so now I have (2) here- my rooms went under construction- that part finished last weekend, but I've been working a lot and have not managed to clean up all the drywall dust- and put the rooms back together- sewing machines are buried- fabrics are hidden (to protect them from all the drywall dust) it has turned out to be a bit more than was anticipated (of course- since when does construction ever go according to plan?) anyhow- work is *leveling out* again- and I will get these done and back on track asap...I will do the (first one) first- and get it out- then look at the one that just came. new lighting may be going in this weekend- and I have a 'rush job/graduation quilt' I have to get quilted & bound before I can even worry about anything else. :) I will keep you posted. :)

Hi Sherry,

It's been a crazy week. Had to go into town on Monday for a Mammogram and then Tuesday and Thursday were long dentist appointments (I'm terrified of dentists, so had a lot on my mind and didn't get online at all). Your package arrived on Monday, I believe, and I took it into town with me on Tuesday and after my appointment, I convinced my husband to let me stop at the little quilt shop nearby and match fabric. I found two marvelous fabrics to go with the medallion you sent me and I have them laying out in the sewing room. It's beginning to talk to me and one idea is very vocal. Now I have to make up a sample block to see if I can make it work. I'll be doing a lot of sewing in the next week, so I should have a photo for you gals sometime soon. I love what you did with your simple border, because it lets me do something more elaborate with mine. Talk to all of you soon.

Denise I think you will LOVE what Jacqui did for your medallion! I kind of have a plan for mine, but I'm still listening to it talk to me!

I got Jacqui's package yesterday! I am working on Denise's and about to get it ready. Then I will work on the one I just got from Jacqui. Sorry, right now I can't even think of whose it is! I am praying for some quiet time this week-end to do some sewing.

Things here have been rather hectic since Robby's dad passed. We had an appointment with the attorney yesterday to get things moving on probating the will. Hopefully this won't take too long! Robby's grieving process is being multiplied by the actions of his step mom! She isn't lifting a finger to help us with anything! I plan to get him away to the lake soon for some down time so that maybe I can get him interested in going fishing. Please continue your prayers for him! This has been very hard for him!

((((Sherry and Robbie)))) I'm sorry Sherrie. Continued prayers for you both. And please, don't feel crazy rushed, if you need to take a bit more time, it's ok... I think we all agree on that. Or please let us know if Jacqui should mail to Denise instead or whatever to help make it easier for you.

Sherry... is it the one with the rust colored center?   if so, it's Dawn's...

Hugs and prayers for you and Robbie....  I'd like to say it gets easier sooner rather than later, but a stubborn MIL can make things pretty complicated. Hope Robby can begin to find solace in the things he loves to do. Right now, it may be stirring up memories that are too dear to him.  Time.....  My mom will be gone 5 yrs later this month, and I had a pretty good cry just last week..... there are still days I pick up the phone to call her....

Just so you all know this round robin is NOT adding stress! It is a comfort to me and calms my nerves! Sewing is something that has always relaxed me and I love it! So PLEASE don't stress over me!

The hardest time was during his last 2 weeks. Other than that he was pretty good and able to walk and everything. We are very thankful that the hard part wasn't lengthy! He was such a wonderful human being and never complained about anything! He made it easy to take care of him!

Thank you all for your kindness and your prayers!

I just wanted to check in with you so you knew where I was and that I am working on things. It won't be long before I mail Denise's off!

Love you all! Thanks again!

Please mail when ready as will try to get these back on schedule as much as possible, today is the 6th and Karen's has not arrived yet but when it does will work on it right away and get it moving on, not worried about them piling up as mail takes some time from the States to here. Oh I did get the fabric for Karen's quilt not sure if I ever posted that :) Off to town now hope everyone is having a great day sun is finally shining here :)

I mailed the other 'quilt' to Dawn on Saturday morning- so it should be following shortly- seems it is taking about 2 weeks for her to receive them- hopefully that is 'timely' while she is working on the one she just received. :)

Dorian, did I send you the picture of Sherry's quilt before I mailed it off to Dawn? I thought I had, but have not seen it show up here- so thinking- maybe I forgot? if I forgot I will send it to you - just wanted to check. it was nice to get it done and sent on * on time* and be 'back on track' . I am really excited to see progress on mine. :)

Just want to let you all know that  I still have Dorian's RR here.... I have not started on it yet, but will be working on it soon.

The end of the school year is always hectic, and with the glorious weather we had this weekend, I just had to work in the yard, instead of inside at my machine.

Hi ladies, I am sorry to say that it looks as if I shall be holding things up a while :( My machine has been having problems for a while and I thought it would be sorted, unfortunatley it looks as if it going to take a little longer than I hoped to sort out. Please forgive me, I WILL catch up asap.

Hi everyone,
Sorry I've been MIA for awhile. Life has just been so crazy and I haven't been in the sewing room/office for weeks. I do have 2 packages here to work on and this is my week to sew. It looks like we'll have rain off and on all week, most of the garden has just been weeded, and the lawn has been mowed, so I'm good to hide out in here for awhile. We continue to have problems with my FIL going in and out of the hospital, but in the past week or two he seems stronger, more stable and more accepting that someone has to live with him full time now. So it's all going better. In the meantime, my mother has gone downhill quite quickly with some health problems and a week ago she ended up in the hospital, as she was too weak to receive her regular leukemia treatment. No need to go into the details, but after 3 days in the hospital, she was taken to a nursing home and is expected to be there 2-4 weeks while she heals some open sores, regains strength and gets over the latest problems. Then she wants to go into an assisted living home, but I don't think she is strong enough or can do enough for herself and I think she will need to go to a full nursing home. The family will have to get together in a week or two and have a "talk" and see what is best for her. My brother has been her care-giver for the past several years, but can't be there full time to help her as he has a job. The big concern is that lately she is falling and can't get up, and she often can't get up from her chair to get to the bathroom or to get to the table to eat, or go to bed, etc. She needs full time care, unless this stay in the nursing home really builds up her strength again.

I will be sewing this week and will catch up on the round robins and get them out in the mail. I have all the fabrics here that I need and know what I'm going to do, so it's a simple matter of carving out enough time for myself to get it done. Sorry to make you all worry.

((((Karen)))) Lots of hugs and prayers heading your way. I'm so sorry things aren't going well for your Mom and FIL. Thank you for checking in and letting us know what is going on. Thats all we want when one of the group has slowed down, just to know what is going on and that you'll get back on track as soon as you can.

Oh Karen I am so sorry that you are having such family issues! I completely understand how life can cause such delays in our sewing commitments! We all, at one time or another have had issues arise that slow us down. I was just concerned about you since I knew that the package I just sent was delivered but we never heard from you! Thanks for checking in!

I pray that both your mom and your FIL are much better soon!

Hope you get some much needed sewing therapy soon! Sometimes it's these type commitments that get me back in my sewing room and get me going again!

Hugs!

I have one ready to mail to Sherry.... and Dorian's is first thing on my "to do" list when we get home next week, so I'm hoping to be able to mail them together.

If it takes me longer than a day or two to finish up Dorian's I'll mail what's ready.  (I think it's Colleen's, but I'm not positive and since I'm in Montana, I can't go get it from the shelf).  One or two should be on the way to Sherry before the 1st of July.

update:

I got the borders made for Dorian's RR yesterday.... now I just need to stitch them on.  A little adjustment is needed to make them all fit.  So a coping border is needed.   I'm pretty sure that the final measurement will be one that Jacqui can work with easily.... 50" square finished... 50 1/2" unfinished.  Lots of numbers factor into 50......

Jacqui... I'll let you know for sure when I get the borders actually stitched on..... and pressed.

Both of the RR I have here will go in the mail  to Sherry this week.

I have still not received the one that Dawn mailed last week,  but I know it is coming from Canada.... I'll let everyone know as soon as it arrives.

any quilts heading for me? looking through the pictures I (think) there may be (2) I have not worked on yet. just wondering if I should be expecting one soon? I know I have not worked on the one with the 30's fabrics yet- while cleaning/rearranging my sewing room after construction I made sure I had those set aside ready- so they would not be misplaced. :) anyhow- just wondering. I hope summer is going well for all...I have been very busy at work for the past couple weeks...don't seem to have the (gumption) to start something new- so, thinking maybe some (on-going) project may help get me 'motivated' :)

here is a picture or two of Dorian's RR with the borders on... it is ready to mail to Sherry, where she will add Jacqui's border and then her own.

Jacqui... it measured 50 1/2" unfinished SQUARE.....  I have mailed a small envelope with some fabric samples, but it came back to me... 2 days after I dropped it in the mailbox.  I'll resend when I mail this out to Sherry.

This was a fun one to do...I've had this background print for a couple of years... and I felt it was a great  way to help blend all the different colors together.....  The rickrack just asked me to be stitched on..... so I did.... Hope you like it!

how is everyone doing? it looks like some have started catching up again- it has been a crazy busy summer so far for me (although we've only had 4 or 5 days of summer weather) i have not spent very much time in my sewing room- but still looking forward to receiving the couple of these i have not had the opportunity to work on yet. i do hope i will start receiving again soon- i really am excited to see them as they reach their finish lines, it is always so--awe inspiring. :) i just wanted to check in since it's been a while

Thanks for checking in Colleen.

Sherry is having a rough time right now, as her dear dh is having more issues.

And no Sherry, we do NOT want you to give up, unless you have to. We can be patient :)

And poor Jacqui was having machine issues, but it's better now I think.

Karen, Dawn, whats going on with you two?

Thank you all for being so patient with me! I have one here with me right now. It is Dawn's and is hanging on my design wall. I will let you know when the two you are mailing gets here Denise. Things are improving here slowly but they are improving! I know that I won't be doing any sewing this week-end. We have a gospel meeting starting Sunday and the evangelist is staying with us. So I will be pretty tied up for several days. Hoping I can hibernate next week-end!

Just want to let you know that Karen's RR package arrived in the mail yesterday.... I've got it on my design area, trying to think about options.....

This will be a fun one to work on!

I'm not sure where my 30's medallion is... but if someone needs more of either the blue, or 30's scraps... let me know... I'll send them out.

Hmmm I am getting slightly concerned that I haven't heard whether the border for Colleens top has arrived at Sherrys   If it hasn't arrived yet then it must have gone astray, as it has been quite a while since it was mailed. There fore i have a proposition...

Sherry if it has arrived then all is well and I shall stop fretting lol If NOT then do you think this would work out?

You have Colleens top with you, what if you add a border yourself, then let me know what the finished size is , hold on to it whilst I make another border but at least you can work on one whilst you are waiting  for new border to arrive, meanwhile you should recieve Dorians border and can work on that, hopefully by then my new  border for Colleens should have arrived, and you can add it AFTER yours, I know it will be out of sync but I think this way it won't hold things up any more than necessary....... What do you think?

Please let me know :) Dorians border should be on its way this weekend :)

Aww a new Grandbaby isn't that wonderful :) Congrats to you :)

Jacqui

Aww Thank You Dorian   I just thought that it would speed things up a little, and maybe move the backlog   I am still hoping that the border has turned up and we won't have to go down this route

Jacqui dear don't fret! I have not gotten it yet but I still have Dawn's that I am working on! Take your time! If Dorian's gets here first then I will work on it next, and then Colleen's!

I have not mailed anymore to Karen lately. Still waiting to hear from her about the other two she has. Jacqui's and Denise's!

Here is my border on Karen's medallion.   I loved having some of her focus fabric to play with.

It now measures 54" finished.   this gives Jacqui blocks that are 2",  3.5",  4", 7" and 8"  to work with.    The colors are faded out because of the light in the room.

I was fortunate enough to have a yellow/ mossy green that was a color match to the green that Dorian used early on.   I think it really helps to tie all the colors together.   I hope Karen likes it!

I should have this in the mail later this week or early next week to Sherry.  I'm sure she'll post as soon as it gets there.

I think I have 2 left to work on.... Sherry's and Jacqui's.... can't wait to see how all these beauty's turn out!

for real... I made it to the post office today!  YEAH!   Sherry... keep an eye out, and let me know when it gets there.. I sent it priority.. so it should be there no later than Tues.

I'm wondering if Dawn made it to the post office a few weeks ago... I have not yet received a package from her... but I do know how it goes.... work has been so crazy for me, I'm either leaving work too late to make it to the post office, or I've had other things to get done in the opposite direction....

Good news!

SHerry talked to Karen this last week. Karen has had an awful summer, BUT she IS working on the 2 RR's she has!! She is supposed to come in here and give us an update. So hopefully she'll come in soon, and we can continue sending her RR's.

((((hugs))) and prayers Karen!!

So where is everyone else on these? I receive from Karen, so am not working on anything right now.

Karen I am so sorry to read you have had a bad Summer :(

Love and hugs to Karen and Sherry xxxx

Many Thanks to Denise for passing on info to me and making it possible for me to take part, and much much gratitude to Sherry for attaching my borders whilst she is having things to deal with xx

So sorry for not letting you all know earlier but I do still have the rr and will get it mailed off by Mon. Again sorry for the delay but I had a family crisis and had to travel to help take turns staying at the hospital with my grandson, I got back home last week to a sick dog and took him to the vets and had to but him down poor guy had cancer and that was very hard for me as we just lost a dog in April and Joey and I were buddies. Anyway I am back home and feel better now (not so tired) so will drive to town on Monday. Again sorry for the delay

Hello everyone, Jiust a quick update. My Mom has been having TIA's or mini strokes. The symtoms go away within a few minutes, but there is some concern that the next one might be a massive stroke. They want me to come up and visit for a few days, so I am leaving in a few minutes. I will be back on the weekend. Dorian, I was going to send you both RR's that I have in one package, but I don't have the second one done yet (my husband, son and I spent the weekend with some quality family time instead of me sewing and them working in the fields - I had expected to have the entire weekend to myself). I will give it top priority as soon as I get back. Please understand and give me a little more time. The project is going well, but just isn't ready to mail.

Hello Ladies,

Alright, it's time to get this show on the road. I have emailed Karen, and she hasn't gotten back to me, so Karen, if you are reading this, please get back to me.

Sherry, please send me one of the RR's you have, and I'll add to it. If Karen contacts me and still wants to be part of this, then I can mail it to her, or someone else down the line can. If she doesn't, then we'll just go on without her. Sorry Karen, but it's time to get these done.

Denise, did you receive the one from Dawn?

I hope you are all alright with this. I just want to see these getting worked on. I am all for Karen adding on later, thats fine, but for now, lets get moving on them :)

Dorian...

No... I'm sorry to say that I have not received anything from Dawn.

At this point... I'm hoping she didn't get to the post office in early November as she was hoping she would.... because 2 months would be way more than enough time for it to get here from Canada.

Dawn... are you out there?

I still need to make Karens border sorry if I am holding things up. Nothing to work on other than that at the moment. I like your idea Dorian of sending on and allowing karen to add her border at a later date :)

I haven't heard anything of Sherrys border, did I miss it? xxx

Dorian I think it probably is Sherrys because it is the only one I haven't worked on....... besides the one I have in hand that is. So if she has 2 then one is Sherrys and one is mine. I think lol Oh well, it will all come out in the wash ;)

Karen has Denise's and Jacqui's! The one that Dawn mailed to Denise is mine. I mailed Dawns last week to Dorian. It should have arrived today. Colleen's should be in the mail to Dorian very soon! That will leave me with Dorian's and Karen's. Has anyone heard from Karen lately? I know she had lots going on in her life as we all have. I have never started one of these thati didn't finish so hang in there! I'm making progress!

My post office did finally find my parcel that I sent Denise, long story but anyway it is now on its way to Denise it left today and they told me there will be no problems this time :) I am not sure if there are any packages coming my way or not but I think I have 2 or 3 more to work on? So I have not received any in months. We are headed south again but I have house sitters so if anything comes they will tell me.
Thanks Dawn

Thank you Dawn!! Have a great time.

Here is Dawn's quilt with Denise, Jacqui and Sherry's row on it. I have decided on what I want to do, picked my fabric and am sewing along.

So Colleen, I'll let you know when I have it on it's way. Probably not for a week at least, as I only go to town once a week. I will TRY real hard to get done by next Friday. Will let you know.

So, I had to order some fabric to finish Dawn's RR. I waited THREE WEEKS and still no sign of my fabric. I looked at my bank account, and realized that the order was never even processed??!! HUH!

So, I spent an hour or so taking apart the geese blocks ,and laid them end to end and made a different pattern then what I originally wanted. When I was about halfway thru putting the borders on, the store that I ordered my fabric from called me. The Lady said she was trying to process my order, but my bank card didn't work (about a week after making that initial order I had to cancel that card and get a new one.) I asked her why it took her so long to process the order. She said she was out on a teaching tour, away from her shop, and she was the only employee! If I owned a shop and I wasn't going to be there to process orders, I WOULD PUT A NOTE ON THE WEB SITE!!! Geeesh!!!

Anyways, I think your RR turned out nice. Hope you like it Dawn. I didn't get a picture of it though, as it has been cloudy and cool out. It's IN THE MAIL COLLEEN!!!

I just wanted to let y'all know that I mailed Colleen's rr today to Dorian. I have a tracking # if we need it but delivery is supposed to be by next Monday. I still have yours, Dorian and plan to work on it this weekend. And I have Karen's. What do I do with it? Has anybody else heard anything from her?

I'm hoping the picture of Colleen's will let me attach it! Here goes!

Thats looking great Sherry! And what's funny is, I almost did the exact same thing to Dawn's RR. lol, but changed it at the last minute.

So you only have Mine and Karen's at your house? Sigh, no, I haven't heard from Karen. I am not sure what is going on at your house, how Robbie is/etc, but if you could call her, that would be great. But if you can't, just let me know and I will.

Hey Dorian
I just called Karen and got no answer. I left her a message and told her I was just checking on her and wanted to find out how things were going. I know she has had lots of family issues as we all have but I just wanted to check on her. I left her my number so that maybe she could call me back. I also tried to call you but it just rang and rang. maybe too early? I'm not sure. Hope all is well with you!

I am still sick with sinus crud, since February! I have had 3 rounds of antibiotics and a shot in the butt! X-ray shows the sinuses have pin holes to breath through! They are completely full! I have an appointment with ENT on the 7th of April to see what they want to try next!

But I am making progress with the rr's I have. Yes, I just have yours and Karen's left at my house! I am at a loss right now as to what to do with yours. I hope it speaks to me soon so that I can get it done and off to home! Do you have any idea what I should do with Karen's?

Thank you all for being patient with me! Robby is having some terrible trouble with pain and we are trying to get him an appointment with a neurologist in Oklahoma City because they do laser spine surgery there. He has 7 branches off of his neck that are narrowing to the point that he is in constant pain! He does absolutely NOTHING but sit in the recliner all day every day! He has got to get some relief! I tried taking him to the lake for a few days and he just sat in the chair in the camper! At least it was a change of scenery! Please say a pray for him if you don't mind!

Thanks again everybody!

(((SHerry and Robbie))) I'm so sorry sweetie. Keeping you and Robbie both in my prayers. I really hope you both find some relief soon.

Thank you so much for calling Karen. I hope she calls you back or jumps on here. If you want to add a border to hers, go ahead, but if you don't want to thats ok too, considering.. just mail it along to me when you mail me mine. And don't rush mine, I dont' mind waiting for it longer.

Oh, I missed your call!! I was in town. lol

I received a round robin in my mail box last week (sorry I didn't post sooner- still trying to adjust to working nights 12 hour shifts) it is Dawns (I think) I will be able to get going on it this weekend. looking forward to working on it- it is right up my alley. :)
over the time spent I have lost track of everything with this round robin and have no idea where this one goes after me (back to Dawn, maybe?) so if someone could let me know (and private message me the address for who I send it too- I seem to have lost/misplaced my little journal I had that information in) I would really appreciate that.
will let you know when I get going & finish it- and will take a couple pics (before & after)
have a nice Easter weekend everyone. :)
although I do have to go to work sunday night I do have Friday & Saturday night off- first weekend I've had off since the beginning of December! now, if it would just stop snowing all would be right in my world. :)

oh, the round robin woes.....

I thought I had a plan all worked out for Sherry's... that would bring out all that bright color to my border, and allow Jacqui to do black and white on  her border.....

I cannot find any of that tie die fabric anywhere... I've looked online.... I've searched Portland.....   I finally bought a bright stripe that has all the colors in it... it's washed now.... so I need to decide if it will work with my original idea, or if I should do something different with the stripes.....

Sherry... sorry Robbie is feeling so painful......  prayers continue... hope you get anwers at your appointment this week.  Hope your ENT has some answers !   I've also had sinus issues for weeks now.... mucinex and kleenex are my friends.....   haven't missed work, but no extra energy to do much of anything else.....

I did work down in my greenhouse for a few hours today....  it really needed some water and attention.....  we've had such an early spring.... that the lilacs are in bloom, and my wisteria is ready to pop.... which usually doesn't happen until Mother's day.....  I had some small starts that needed to be potted in larger pots, and it really needed a good sorting out down there..... I'm sure the slugs are down there pulling different pots out off the shelves and mixing them up when I'm not looking... LOL

I need to get some phone calls done for guild.... been putting off the nomination committee duties, (which I hate to do).... why did I say Yes?    but I committed myself, so better get with it....

Hope everyone has a nice Easter!

The pictures of the RR in progress are looking great!

I took a picture of Karen's rr today and sent it to her in a text so that she could see how beautiful it is. I'm hoping it will reignite her interest! I've tried to call but got no answer. 😥

Sigh, thank you Sherry for trying to get a hold of her. I take it she hasn't called you back yet? Sigh~

I just tried to call her, she didn't answer. I left a message. Double sigh~

I would love to work on another RR for you Ladies, Denise and Jacqui I think, right? If you all want to do that. They deserve a quilt too!

Sherry's top is on my design wall.....  still contemplating what I'm going to do with the bright stripe I bought to fill in for the tie-die fabric.....

I cut some sample blocks this last weekend, but haven't stitched them yet....

Work is crazy..... I won't ever catch up..... hoping next year isn't like this one.....  don't think I can do many more...... always feel behind.... and by the time I get home there's no energy left to even do laundry....

My house is a mess... the yard needs a machete and a blow torch..... Mike wants me to do a few projects with him.... and I want to get some quilting done.....

Denise please don't fret over it on my account! I am in no hurry whatsoever! I have just about the same situation at my house! But with Robby having had another surgery EVERYTHING falls on my shoulders and man are they getting tired! I have to run home at 12:30 today and pick him up and take him back to town for his check up after surgery. Praying they say he is healed enough to get up and do some things for himself! Trying to plan a birthday party for the oldest gd tomorrow. Nikki works full time now so all that falls on me too along with picking the kids up at school and shuttling them to dance!

Right now there is no sewing time for me!

But Dorian's RR is on the wall and I look at it every time I use my iron! Calgone take me AWAY!!!

But like I said before, I have never NOT finished a commitment and this won't be my first!

I got a package in the mail yesterday from Karen and it made me feel so sad that she thought she owed us an apology so bad that she sent a happy! I know how hard it is to get motivated when you are behind and feeling the pressure and I am just sorry she felt so bad that she thought it was necessary!

And if you check in here Karen, just know that I will get to your RR too! It will come home soon! And thank you SOOO much for the happy! You are too kind!

Hugs everybody and take care!

We will see this RR finished eventually!

Dorian, I just wanted to tell you that I have your rr packaged and will be heading to the po after work today.

I will pm you a tracking # as soon as I have it!

I did not take a picture that was worthy of posting due to the lack of space to hang it smoothly.

Plus I wanted the finally look to be a surprise!

Forgot the post office is closed so it will be tomorrow!

I got my BEAUTIFUL RR back!!! I love it Ladies. Thank you so much.

I know it's been a long, rough road this time, and I really hope that Jacqui gets hers back soon (Dawn, have you received it yet?) Thank you Ladies for being a part of another RR. Please, lets keep working on Jacqui's and get it done asap. I think hers and Karen's are the only two that haven't made it home yet, right?

Denise, did you ever do anything about your border that was skipped?

HUGS!!

Dorian... I am going to keep it here.   If Dawn wants to make 2 borders for it after Jacqui's is done and on it's way to me,  I am happy to send her some of the blue and white...

my plan for it at this point is to add a couple more borders to the top and bottom to lengthen it out.... Dawn could just make 2 borders the right length and send them to me to stitch on..... Just can't see paying to ship it twice at this point....

I am looking forward to working on it some during my winter break!

Dawn... here are a couple of pics of my top so far...  it measures 56" finished...      Most all the blocks measure between 4" and 6" up to this point.

I have a package ready to come your way with the solid blue, solid white and some 30's prints you can use.... feel free to add to the prints if you have some,  I just didn't want to make anyone go shopping, since I have a huge drawer full of 30's reproductions.

Please send me a PM with your address and I'll mail later this week.   If we add a top and bottom border each, it will be the perfect size!   Thank you.

Hi everyone,

Just checking in. Haven't been online much this winter, but slowly getting my life organized again. After losing my mother last August, it took some time to get settled again. Now I'm back, sewing up a storm and anxious to complete more of my UFO's and not start so many new things. Hope all of you are well and had a Happy Easter. Raining and dreary here today, but spring will eventually find it's way to the Northwoods.

Hi karen ((HUGS)) Nice to see you are back. I hope Spring comes soon for you. It's so lovely here. I was telling my dd yest that one day I need to do a quilt in the colors of our place. The grass is green, we have darker green pine trees, then there is a lot of various shades of purple flowers everywhere and the color of the old wood on the shed... lol
