OK everyone!!  Here is the list of randomly-selected partners for March. I will PM each of you with the info for your partners shortly, and post a questionnaire here for each of you to trade with one another.  I still need info from the following people:

Jacqui

Jess

WendyMI

logcabin1961

Partners:

JennB-in2patches

misisipimenace-Jennifer

Dorian-Nawma

buggalugs-logcabin1961

Jess-Nola

WendyMI-Gerda

You can decide between yourselves if you prefer emails or PM to communicate. Please don't be shy and really make the attempt to get to know each other!  You should send your gift out no later than March 25th so it will hopefully arrive to your partner by the end of the month (except for those of you who live outside the US-we know it might take longer for you but you're worth the wait !!)

Enjoy, and please let me know if you have any questions.

Here is a pdf for you Wendy. No worries!

By the way, Microsoft Office and Works are not part of Vista or any other Windows program. They are seperate software. It is just that most of the nicely priced computers don't generally come with Office (which includes Word) on them, you have to pay extra for it. I did with my laptop anyway. They put Works on there to help sell the computer and so that you have a few basic functional tools.

I saw that and wondered about it Jacqui, I'm sorry. Sounds like a good thing to tell Jenn. Who on here knows each other well, so wants to not be paired with them.

I figured that was probably the case when it came out that way, but I didn't want to play matchmaker so since that was the way I drew the names, I left it :)

I will keep a list though of who has been partnered with who so we don't repeat it...at least for a few months. We'll need to get these new boardies involved so we can keep it going, otherwise we'll have been paired with everyone within a few months!

Jenn if everyone fills in the questionairre and sends it to you then you won't have anything to find out about your partner(s) in the next round of swaps, isn't that rather defeating the object, it would be a shame if the swap were no fun for the person who initiated it don't you think?

For most of the years that I've been quilting, I enjoyed the hand quilting process the most. But for the past year or two, I've gravitated towards designing more. I love working with colors and seeing what different patterns will do.

If you haven't already done so, I would suggest trying to get your packages to your friends mailed out in the next couple of days. Whenever these arrive, please post a picture here of what you receive :) We all wanna get a chance to oooh and ahhhh!!!

I know it will take a little longer for those of you living outside the US to receive your packages, so please be patient and be sure to let us know when they arrive.

Looky Looky at what I have. . . Cindy sent me this beautiful fabric, and I am now the owner of my first quilting magazine!!!  Ladies, I do believe that I am on the road to having a stash.  Isn't the fabric bright and cheerful???  I'm thinking that it may become some type of picnic blanket.

Thank you Miss Cindy!!

Hugs

jennifer, so glad you like your fabric!!  i had it on good authority (2 of them actually LOL) that this fabric would be one you would love and of course it was perfect for first-time quilting efforts!!  i am so happy you already have a project in mind for it and can't wait to see a pic of the completed quilt!

now for the magazine - the center "how-to" section is the other part of your gift!  i keep a copy of that pinned to my bulletin board behind my sewing machine - lots of handy tips there!!  the magazine in itself is a bonus and i hope you find a pattern in there you would like to try your hand at sometime!

Wendy, I have not yet gotten you a little something - looking after the grands all week and weekend (mom was around for most, but you know what shopping with young kids is like!!!) I couldn't get to any stores. I WILL get something out this week - I need to go out on Thursday evening, so will get it off ASAP. I'm looking forward to seeing my "happy" (thanks for the word, Cindy! :)).

Oh, man, just over two weeks for the movers to come and have I gotten packed?? NOT!!! other than a couple of totes of sewing stuff. Next week, I go gangbusters!!!

ooooo i got to open my "happy" box from jennifer yesterday but  i am just now posting a pic - aren't i just sooooo bad ! LOL

anyways, my "happies" were a TX magnet, 2 TX shotglasses (don't drink shots of whiskey, but i collect these from the different states!!), a TX collectible thimble (aha a new collection!  watch out mr. prince!!) a new address book, which i really needed!!, beautiful note cards for wren and gramma to correspond after my move and 2 pieces of beautiful purple fabric!!  i mean really - is there any other color??? ROFLOL

jennifer, i thank you!  i am thrilled and so spoiled!!!!  and wren thanks you for the note cards - she can't make up her mind which ones she wants, so i spect she will end up with both - but that's ok, anything gramma has is hers for the asking anyway - but you already knew that didn't you?!!

again, THANK YOU!!

You're very welcome my new friend, Cindy! I'm so happy that Wren liked the note cards. I bet she will love sending her gramma mail! That was the first time I had ever seen a collectible thimble so I just knew it had to make it's way to Mississippi.

it's beautiful jennifer!

i also forgot to mention this - so listen up all you book lovers!!  jennifer passed along  paperbacks, tess gerritson's "the mephisto club" and tami hoag's "ashes to ashes".  emily has started reading one tonight so as soon as we both get them read, i will be checking into who would like to read them next.  jennifer asked that they be shared and since we've started swapping books in another thread, i will add these into that rotation soon as well!!

Wanted to show you all the bag our talented Mrs. Scrapatches made me.  The fabric is just to cute, chocolate and coffee what could be better and the bag is reversible.  Along with a beatiful lavender and rose heart popurrie (sp).  and the funniest part is .....because of her telling me about the elm creek series I had just ordered the first book in the series, and what do I find when I open my box from Pat     ,,,,,,,, the first books   yippeeeeee I can start reading now.

Pat thanks you so much, I have enjoyed getting to know you and hope to continue our friendship for many long quilting years.......

Lovely bag Miki!

I think that this beautiful fabric I got from Connie is one of her hand dyed pieces   I'll be happy to take a picture of it if anyone wants to see it.

Wendy, I got your box today!! Thank you!! I love the redwork blocks you made me, the aunt Martha patterns are so cute and will definitely be made sometime, the bulbs, well, I think I may put them in a container for now and transplant in the early fall - they look gorgeous!! And that cookbook, oooh, I'll have to check it out further later this evening. I got my giftie off to you today, so look for it in about a week.

I will have to think on a use for the redwork blocks - do I include them with the redwork swap on BC's blocks, or a small hanging of their very own. Hmmmmmmmmmm..

Yah, I'm glad you got it Connie and that the jar didn't break. I was wondering about that. LOL

Here's a picture of the material Connie sent me, it does NOT do it justice though.

I'm so glad you like the wall hanging Connie. What I like about that cake recipe, is although it has no dairy it in, it is a very moist cake! So yummy!!

The green is perfect, it's my favorite color! LOL What do you use for the dye color?

Gerda, got the goodies from you today!!! Thank You, Thank You!!!! The Prairie Star will be perfect for the Christmas baskets I will be making this year!!!! I usually make bread and strawberry freezer jam, but seems everyone has diabeties, glutin allergies, or is just plain watching their weight!!! No one can have too many friendship angels!!!! The postcards are very interesting, I will have to see what other information I can find about that little town!!! Thanks again, Wendy

Perhaps I should have said, the prarie point star (pattern)!!! LOL. I just make regular white bread, sometimes I add a little whole wheat flour and some wheat germ, or oat bran. Wendy
