This recipe comes from Nestle's "Best Loved Cookies" book.
12 oz package of chocolate chips2 3/4 C flour1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp ground ginger1/2 tsp ground cinnamon3 Tbls butter3 Tbls granulated sugar1/2 C molasses1/4 C water
Melt 1 1/2 C chocolate chips, set aside to cool.
Combine flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon. In seperate bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add molasses and melted choco chips. Add flour mixture and water. Beat until smooth.
Cover and chill for about an hour, till firm enough to roll out.
Roll, cut, bake at 350 degrees for 5 o 6 minutes. Just until the edges are set but the middle is still soft. Let rest for a minutre or two, then take off pan, cool and decorate.
* Melt the remaining half cup of chocolate chips, and use as a drizzle over cookies, if so desired.
